I Cuban was trying to use metaphor in a fear mongering way, but I wish someone would challenge him to the notion that if a kid with a hoodie on makes him cross the street, if this hoodie wearing kid's intent is to commit crime, then Cuban crossing the street isn't going to do anything to stop that kid from crossing the street as well.

And for those who are Black and say that they would cross the street as well, unless you're a female walking alone in a high crime area, late at night, you should have no reason to be afraid. If you're some unaware wannabe Black hipster, or walking around trying to flash gaudy clothes and jewelry, if you're in a certain area at a certain time of night, you'll probably get tested.

The problem with Cuban's statement is that he didn't qualify his statement. He just said, "I see a Black kid with a hoodie, I'm running my bytch ass across the street." That's means anywhere USA, at anytime of day, no matter what, he's bytching up and running, only stopping to pick up a penny in the street if he sees it.

Like people on here have been saying, Cuban is defending Zimmerman, Sterling and general white fear and prejudice.
And for those who say Cuban isn't racist, he his the very definition of a racist because he has the means and ability to deny and obstruct Black people from getting and earning income as well as advancing in his companies. I'd like to know how many Black managers or CEO's or CFO's or COO's he has working for his companies. How many sit on a board that makes decisions.

Cuban said that if someone was making racist comments and worked for him, he wouldn't fire them, he would send them to "sensitivity training" :what: As if a week of telling someone, "Don't say racist and derogatory comments at work" is going to erase years of their bigoted developed views.
Because that basically lets someone know, "I can call a coworker a ****** or sambo, porch monkey all I want because I'll never get fired."

Bruh Cuban said "at nighttime".

And he's not defending Zimmerman...or Sterling. His main point has always been that we cant stay jumping down peoples throat and trying to get people banished just because we dont like what they say.
Its like if the NFL kicked out a player because he said he wasnt comfortable w/ a gay player in the locker room...should that player be kicked out of the NFL?

Cuban just used a (bad) example to make the point that we all have our biases.
Are we really trying to argue that its not common for people to have a bias (for whatever reason) towards other people?

Curious...

...You all know that Cuban never said "Tattoos on the face"...that was a typo in the newspaper. He said "white guy w/ shaved head and lots of tattoos".

Do you all feel Mark Cuban is a racist? or just offended by what he said?

Verbatim:

"And if on that side of the street, there's a guy that has tattoos all over his face, white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere, I'm walking back to the other side of the street."

He was defending Zimmerman, that's why he felt compelled to apologize to Trayvon Martin's family. Okay I went back and he did say late at night, so that was an oversight on my part.

And Cuban has been defending Sterling, since the beginning. And you can't equate the gay issue with the race issue. It's not even close, no matter how bad gay people want it to be. I know Dwayne Wade is Black, but I don't know if he's gay, his choice in clothing tells one story, but unless he comes out and says it, I have no clue.

And yes, we all have biases, but not all biases are based out of fear. Nor should they be based on a mundane piece of clothing.

you gotta be fukking retarded to think he is outright DEFENDING zimmerman :laff:
You have to understand subversive language and dialogue, which it seems you don't quite grasp. By saying a Black kid in a hoodie, who's the most well known Black kid in a hoodie in the past 10 years? Trayvon Martin. That's why everybody was walking around wearing hoodies in protest and support of the Martin family.
Tell me this, why did Cuban apologize to the Martin family? Because he basically gave cause and reason for Zimmerman shooting and killing Trayvon Martin, when there wasn't one.
I'd be careful calling someone retarded, especially when it's apparent that you have difficulty understanding nuanced dialogue and talking points.

You gotta be fukking retarded to think that's somehow the point. We're talking about PREJUDICE and the implications it brings. He may not support Zimmerman, but he supports the very same rationale Zimmerman had when he pursued Trayvon Martin... or when cops harass minorities, etc. Some will engage and fight, others will such as Cuban will take flight, but the bottom line is that they both sense a threat that has to addressed in some manner. Quite honestly, the fact that a white guy would that much to indicate a threat should speak volumes to the fact that it's not about the hoodie at , but the person wearing it.

He didnt say that...it was a mis quote that was spread around.

He said "if I see a white guy with shaved head and lots of tattoos"
..

Have you guys actually listened to what he was saying? He explains how he knows all of it is wrong, and you have to check yourself when you have those thoughts.

fam the issues are similar.
Mark is defending the right of people to say what they want, not Sterling being a racist.
So yes, the gay issue does match this. If gay people get offended by something someone says, now they can demand that person be removed, or make it so that person is labeled homophobic...thats what he is trying to say.

Like when Tracy Morgan got in trouble for his standup bit...dude to go through a lot of B.S. because of his comedy act.

so youre going to ignore everything he said in the clip i posted? He clearly was just trying to come up w/ an example...its not set in stone...he was giving an example.

How can you watch the clip I posted and not get what he was saying? He clearly said its wasnt the right way to think, and that when you catch yourself thinking like that you must correct it.

You dont have negative thoughts?
