Not just whites, all casuals. Casuals determine superstar status. Die Fans only stagnate sports. Die Hards are the reason baseball fell off. Try too hard to protect the sanctity of the sport rather than allowing it to grow and evolve. They the reason people get angry when a hitter celebrates a homerun. Die hard will trash modern players for not being like the past stars. Die hards oppose evolution, because they don't want their favorite players past records to be eclipsed due to some rule change. Problem is the past superstars don't get to play forever, Die hard fans don't live forever, and new fans don't care about some star from the 80s.
Its much better to cater to Casuals than die hards if you are in it for the money.
That's why I said define "Superstar". SAS didn't do good job explain or breakdown what superstar is.
I mean in the sense that white people are the majority, so they move the needle more.

And all of those things happened because Bird had that championship game against Magic in college, he was white, and played for Boston. Of course he had to be a great player as well, but he wouldn’t be as popular without those other factors.
