That makes sense, superstar should be an exclusive title. Only a few can achieve it.

There’s a difference between a basketball star and a mainstream superstar.

But does it even matter if it's just a fame parameter? I mean some players don't even use social media, making them less famous.
Like I said Bronny >>> SGA and Jokic in terms of media, but what does that mean for their basketball careers? Everyone that give a single fukk about basketball know who SGA and Jokic are. What does it matter if TMZ writes more about Bronny on Kai Cenat?

Like if OJ was only a quiet running back instead of all over Hollywood, commercials etc. would that make him less of a player?

Haliburton is a lot like Jamal Murray, a borderline all-star; now technically, while he's made the all-star team twice, something Murray has yet to do, you could attribute that to him being in the Eastern Conference so the barometer for an all-star ticket is lower but if he was in the West he'd get “snubbed” like Murray.

Murray would've been an all-star in the Eastern Conference. You don't have to be a superstar to be a great player; sometimes, you're just a great player and nothing more and nothing less.

So calling him a superstar is a stretch; people get caught up in the moment and start declaring players “this and that.”

Ant is the latest example of that.

i don’t think that’s an accurate description of a superstar. i think you can be a superstar inside the confines of the support of whatever arena you’re in.

I think Phenom is the right term we should use.

If Vince became a superstar in his second season after the dunk contest and the Olympics (both in 2000), that should mean Grant was a superstar as well considering he was an All Star starter as a rookie and had the most votes in both his rookie and sophomore season. Like someone said, he had the famous Sprite commercial, he had guest spots on TV shows, and he didn’t get hurt until his 6th season (was a 5x all star starter at that point minus one year due to the lockout).
