Kaepernick the individual and his choices have nothing to do with police brutality. In fact, somehow this "movement" stopped being about police brutality and about how he can get his job back working for racist nfl owners.

So Let's talk about this guy yall stan so hard for a second. This freedom fighter who never speaks. Leader who doesnt lead. Revolutionary human rights activist sponsored by nike, who runs sweatshops to make his shoes and clothing line. The guy asking for political change and policies to end police brutality but doesn't vote. This is your hero.

The reason kaep doesnt speak is cause he would be exposed by his lack of experience and knowledge of blackness. By his own admission he wasn't even aware or paying attention to police brutality before 2015. What type of "black" man has the PRIVILEGE to become aware of their "blackness" and police brutality in 2015? One that was passing and living as a white man that's who. Kaep grew up with a white privileged family in white community and slept through high profile incidents like Trayvon martin, tamir rice, john Crawford only to become woke in 2015? Check his timeline. These are facts.

So what else happened in 2015? He started dating his shock jock radio dj by day and keyboard militant at night girlfriend nessa. She is the one pulling most of his strings and that's why she is his mouthpiece. She made him Grow out his jew fro and blacked himself up. That's your hero.

I like what he stood for initially. But you can separate the cause from the man. Cause as you see in this thread and all over social media it's no longer about the cause. It's all about kaep. And he and Nike are riding the wave all the way to the bank, while real brothas are still getting shot by pigs in the street.

Just said a whole lot of nothing

Big rep. The social media era has lowered the standard for what actual action and revolution look like. All you have to do is “bring awareness” and next thing you know you’re Malcolm X.

Once again, what has Kap done that anyone can have a problem with besides bring attention to injustice and give money to the poor? No righteous person can have a problem with him so if you do....

I got no problem with kaep. I hope he gets a job if that's really what he wants. But at this point his beef with the NFL is petty and personal and has nothing to do with policy brutality.

He signed a settlement and NDA. Only 2 parties that really know the what's going on between them are him and the NFL. That ain't my fight or the black communities fight. The focus should be on police brutality. The messenger has become a distraction from the initial message and making himself richer in the process.

Their beef with him is a about police brutality. If he was kneeling for gay rights he'd still be in the league.

He donated over a million dollars while being unemployed to various black organizations for empowerment. That’s not action?

That’s all well and good, but the narrative has shifted to him not being able to get a job. No one is talking about the injustices black people face everyday; they’re talking about his right to wear a Kunte Kinte shirt.

You mean how the narrative was shifted to the military when he protested during the anthem? That’s what the white media does. How is that his fault?

Yep, and we have "black" people in here talking about
"Heavens to Betsy!!! Did you see that shirt he was wearing?? Why would an NFL team want to deal with that?:picard:"

Kaepernick the individual and his choices have nothing to do with police brutality. In fact, somehow this "movement" stopped being about police brutality and about how he can get his job back working for racist nfl owners.
It only is if you only follow what hes doing on the field

I'm against "not voting" so I'm with you on that.

The "never speaks, doesn't lead" complaint is crazy. He is leading in the community, and a protest is speaking by action. I would have liked to hear more from him in the last 3 years but he has done enough to warrant my support. I'm not putting him in the conversation with Malcolm or Martin, that's nonsense, but Its ok to take a stand and take a risk based on what limited info you have and a feeling you have. Why are you holding him to he standard of a scholar on black issues, he is an athlete who - as you stated - recently found himself as a black man. None of us have all the info on black isses but it doesnt mean we arent right.

The reason kaep doesnt speak is cause he would be exposed by his lack of experience and knowledge of blackness.
Again, what standard are you holding him to? Is his stance on police brutality correct or not, that's what the issue is right?

By his own admission he wasn't even aware or paying attention to police brutality before 2015. What type of "black" man has the PRIVILEGE to become aware of their "blackness" and police brutality in 2015? One that was passing and living as a white man that's who. There are instances all throughout our lives where we could have been more aware of black plight earlier. If his girl helped him get there, whats the problem? You said he was raised by white people so why would he be as in tune with black issues as someone raised in a black household. Again, theres nothing wrong with your girl, your homeboy, your parents, your preacher bringing people to their awakening.

I like what he stood for initially. But you can separate the cause from the man. Cause as you see in this thread and all over social media it's no longer about the cause. It's all about kaep. He still stands for the cause. But he also wants to play in the league. Why are you making this so difficult? :heh:

He chose to wear the shirt. He chose not to answer questions with the media he invited. He had every opportunity to control the narrative and all he said was “we’re ready.”

Stephen A has a point but he's overlooking the fact that the NFL didnt act in good faith in a situation that many people are very passionate about. However if Kaep REALLY had the information since Tuesday (as they say) he should have leaked it to the press and exposed the NFL for who they are way before showing up to the workout rather than pulling the plug at the last minute and relocating it. I'm sure some of the scouting folks were rubbed the wrong way by this which isnt helping his case.

Again, that's IF the information that SAS said is accurate. :hubie:
