It’s the problem in sports as a whole when it comes to black players and the different generations. It’s a gap and a lack of respect given when older ones try to teach the younger players what to look out for. The younger ones have the mentality of thinking like “This old nikka don’t know what he talking about...I got more game than all of them and make more money than he ever had in his career..I ain’t listening to this shyt” and then go out and make worse mistakes than the previous generation bc it’s more money being made.
Antonio Cromartie has something like 11-12 kids. I’m sure someone tried to sit and have a talk with him earlier in his career that obviously didn’t work. there are two sides to this...although I do believe the courts need onto be more equitable and move to a more coparenting approach, there needs to be a level of acknowledgement that sizeable amount men treat their children according to how they feel about their mothers. And when the relationship is over, so is the relationship with the child. Some men complain about paying child support but many men may claim they want to see their kids but actually don’t want the responsibility to raise them. They pay lip service in front of the Judge Once they leave these courts it’s back to the bachelor lifestyle.

I help coach my sons AAU team 15 &14u. Kids of all races. At least 80 percent of the kids are from single parent homes. Their ability to follow simple instructions and comprehend is reflected in their style of play. I can easily tell which kids have incarcerated fathers, no father, or a stable structure at home. Through my observations, the kids who have the ability to listen to understand have the latter while those who do not have respect for male authority have the former.

Most of the single mothers who show up to the game are the stereotypical single moms. Show up to one local game, never offer any help towards building the team which in turn would help provide the structure and support their sons desperately need. The kids who have structure at home, never late for practice or a game, always on time and move with a certain level of confidence and assurance than the kids that don’t.

Compare to the single mothers, the single fathers who have kids in the team are very involved. They are first to help with traveling to the games, first to help with fundraiser efforts. This is mostly because the men understand the importance of structure, family, respect and relationships these teams provide amongst other things.

I disagree with the latter... the men who are single fathers tend to earn the right to be the sole parent. A lot of women who are single mothers are often by default. Therefore, the number of aint ish mothers will be significantly higher than the number of single fathers which pale in comparison to women.
Men who are aint ish more times than not don’t want the responsibility of raising children and move as if they are single and never had kids. Women who are aint ish often either want the kids or get the kids by default.
