Reading Wolves of the Calla right now and it got me thinking that if the The Dark Tower series does happen soon, I hope they are able to the actor from this to reprise his role in the DT show. Not gonna spoil it for people that don't know.

I haven't seen that. Looking it up I see it is more of a direct prequel to 'Salem's Lot than what Jerusalem's Lot actually was. I'll have to watch it some time

Straight up adaption of the short story. I don’t remember it having any promo, which is surprising because they did it right budget wise. I only found out about it because I did a trial period to watch “From”.

Has anyone watched it yet?
Eh...They needed to develop these characters.
Give them some backstory, let them interact with each other
I mean
we only see Marks parents when barlow kills them
Its not like the book is some masterpiece, but they have to do better, even for a straight to streaming movie.
Just a run of the mill vamp movie.

i read the book in my teens... dont remember much about it
I remember that it was enjoyable, dont rly like Stephen King

Watching now. There’s definitely some changes from the book. It’s more campy than the book, which was more serious, and full of dread. It would have been better as a show, as the vibe is closer to Stranger things. “Salems lot” the novel is one of my favorites. I don’t hate this, and it’s probably better than all the other adaptions. It still kind of misses the mark as far as being scary, like the original story.

Stephen King tried to create a foundation for expounding upon Bram Stokers monster.

But all he did was give rise to y a level horror like Lost Boys and Fright Night.

The movie is cool for ppl who just want a little horror but hardcore horror fans will leave unsatisfied.

7.5/10, second half better than the first

Don’t get me wrong, I just finished it, and I wouldn’t call it was bad.

It told the story, plus or minus some parts. It wasn’t as hopeless, dark, or cold as the imagery from the novel.

I felt a slight twinge of disappointment sometimes, but I recognize that’s the novel Stan in me. If I really need the same feeling I got from the novel I can just go watch “Midnight Mass”.

All in all I would recommend it to the same crowd you just mentioned. It would have probably done numbers as a one season miniseries. I should have known it would be what it was because Stephen King was hyped about it lol.
