Remember when they said that about Kareem when he went to the Lakers.

Wrong.

Magic left college early solely so he could join forces with Kareem. He could built his own team to challenge Bird, but he joined up with the NBA MVP instead.

This Decision Was Beyond Coin Flip

Magic Johnson would have returned to Michigan State rather than play for the Chicago Bulls.

"I'd have stayed in school," he said here Tuesday, standing alone outside Gate 3 1/2 of Chicago Stadium, the house that could have been his. "A coin toss changed the course of my whole life." Chicago called heads in a 1979 coin flip with Los Angeles for the No. 1 pick in the NBA college draft. It came up tails.

Johnson signed with the Lakers after his sophomore year of college and proceeded to win five championships. The Bulls picked second, took UCLA's David Greenwood and have won no championships.

"I wouldn't have played here," Johnson said on the eve of Game 2 of the NBA finals between his team and the team that could have been his. "The only reason I came out was to play with Kareem and the Lakers."

You hear that? The ONLY reason Magic left college early was to team up with the greatest player in NBA history who was still in his prime and rolling out MVP seasons.

Kareem is great but he wasn't winning rings until Magic. He had one. He wasn't even getting to the finals in a much shorter playoffs.

That's a hell of a lot more than Lonzo fukking Ball has done. :dead:

You gonna imply that Magic going to the Lakers wasn't as bad as Lebron going to the Lakers because "Heck, Kareem had 5 MVP awards with a 6th to come, but he only had one ring!"

Like I said, half the NBA's top-10 players forced their way to the Lakers at some point in their career. It didn't destroy anyone's legacy.

IRONICALLY, HE IS DESTROYING LEBRON’S LEGACY.. BY LOSIN

REMEMBER WHEN LEBRONS CLAIM TO GOAT WAS BEATIN THIS GS TEAM?

:mjlol:

he's enhancing it because it further shows that curry and durant both needed each other to go against lebron if they wanted to win.

durant pretty much never beat lebron before he teamed up with curry

and the warriors was figured and done and then this happened

now, we can clearly see why warriors recruited durant and why durant was so willing to go there and destroy and credibility for himself no matter how many rings he got on a team coming off 73-9, which is why Durant was going to bounce from the warriors after this season

Dudes really love pretending that KD career never existed before 2016 and he been punching LeBron out his whole life lmao...

Dudes also love pretending Steph has half the accomplishments LeBron has lol...

Steph and the Warriors won 3 of the last 5 chips by being possibly the strongest dynasty since the '90s Bulls. Steph was only a #1 option on the first two Finals trips, where he went 1-1, and has made a career of being really average in the NBA Finals...

LeBron won 3 out of 5 NBA championships (2012-2016) while playing for two different teams, not a single one of those teams are considered a GOAT team, and did it with a supporting cast that was weaker on his 3 chips than the supporting casts Steph had on his 3...

LeBron is far and away the most accomplished, most dominant, and greatest player of this era. #2 is Durant, but Durant isn't that close, he just closed the gap by joining the Warriors the last three years. #3 is Chef, which is nothing to sneeze at, but let's stop pretending Steph, on a historical level, is in the same class as LeBron. Steph (and KD) played on the #1 team of this era. LeBron is the #1 player of this era and frankly, it ain't really debatable...
