Passionate speech, directly names a bill, directly calls out politicians not doing shyt, and spoke the truth about why (power), reminds people listening to think about their own families in this situation, and points out bipartisan support

This the kind of shyt we need to spread

what exactly is this bill supposed to do about shootings?

Just from googling (had never heard of it before):

This bill establishes new background check requirements for firearm transfers between private parties (i.e., unlicensed individuals).

Specifically, it prohibits a firearm transfer between private parties unless a licensed gun dealer, manufacturer, or importer first takes possession of the firearm to conduct a background check.

It'd be a start towards something this country desperately needs to address rather than continuing to ignore

:francis: this ain't it.

I believe him. I believe he's compassionate about this and wants to see change. But this ain't it.

A background check wouldnt have stopped this dude or an overwhelming amount of mass shooters. Even one life would be worth it. Background checks aren't the magic cure though.

Considering his father was killed in a shooting while teaching at a University overseas in the 80s, one could understand his point.

This issue with these topics is people think one bill will be the one all be all magic fix. That leads to people dismissing every effort for change.

You gotta start somewhere & go from there

It isn’t the magic cure, but it’s a start.

The problem is that these folks are holding onto power and getting paid by these organizations. Also keep in mind you have dumbasses who treat the 2nd amendment like it’s the 1st and only thing in the constitution.

I mean remember when folks got pissed off when a gun store had pamphlets for each gun on how to be a responsible gun owner?

He's stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Even if he said "You know what, because of this shyt we aren't playing tonight, I want my players to go home and be with their families."

He ain't the GM or owner, he'd be fired and replaced. If the sponsors for the team stood with him or left, if the rest of the NBA stopped and the company's that worked with them stopped......which in turn would fukk up states and cities money....then, only then could we begin to have a serious discussion. But where do we go from there? This doesn't change overnight, or in a week, a month, a year....we cant expect people to just not work, some of which just not do what they love to do until things are fixed.

Over 400 million guns available to Americans. If they 100% stopped sales and making them tonight, there'd still be no hope.
