:francis: this ain't it.

I believe him. I believe he's compassionate about this and wants to see change. But this ain't it.

A background check wouldnt have stopped this dude or an overwhelming amount of mass shooters. Even one life would be worth it. Background checks aren't the magic cure though.

Just because there’s not a specific thing that will solve the problem, that doesn’t mean you just continually do nothing.

More has to be done than the current “well, we’ve tried nothing, what else can we do?”

I agree with you however I don't think that just doing anything to get the ball rolling is going to change anything. Just do something to do something or say you did something isn't going to work. Either people will appreciate the lip service and nothing will change or it'll backslide or people will pushback and make things worse.

At this point its the gun kits and all the addons that are the issue. You don’t even need to go to the gun dealers or the streets anymore. Order the pieces online and bypass all the background checks.

@The God Poster @br82186

He's stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Even if he said "You know what, because of this shyt we aren't playing tonight, I want my players to go home and be with their families."

He ain't the GM or owner, he'd be fired and replaced. If the sponsors for the team stood with him or left, if the rest of the NBA stopped and the company's that worked with them stopped......which in turn would fukk up states and cities money....then, only then could we begin to have a serious discussion. But where do we go from there? This doesn't change overnight, or in a week, a month, a year....we cant expect people to just not work, some of which just not do what they love to do until things are fixed.

Over 400 million guns available to Americans. If they 100% stopped sales and making them tonight, there'd still be no hope.
There must be nothing more pathetic and sad than a person who exists with no hope.

There is no one more misguided than the person who is unwilling to begin a process because they don’t already know the destination.

Nobody knows the answer to stopping gun violence in America. What we do know is the current situation is unacceptable.

It's fukking crazy that ppl think stronger gun laws is the ONNEEE hurdle between and evil muh'fukka and shooting a school up.

The common denominator in 90% of the lsat 25 years of school shootings have been CACs.

But, that's too complex for us to grip with.

...ban them?
You can't ban them. Theres over 400 million guns available to Americans.

You gonna go door to door and confiscate? You gonna go to businesses and storage units? You gonna break into safes?

You can 3d print guns. I can hide the necessary springs, pins, and some barrels and never officially have a gun then print a frame and slide whenever I want. Who's the last mass shooter you know that got away, went and bought more and committed more murders?

Even if we stopped sales and imports today, there'd still be high gun crimes. Even if they stopped making, importing and selling ammo that wouldn't solve anything.

Banning is the only solution. You can put up all the background checks you want - like you said there's 400 million in the system, it won't stop a thing.

A ban isnt going to make 400 million guns already available to 329 million evaporate.

Something has to be done involving the guns that are already in the homes and hands of American citizens.

Nobody is going to go door to door and take them, there's no database for every American that shows what they own when and where they bought it or how many they have.

These are the guns that are going to cause and continue to cause problems. In a majority of cases people have either owned their weapons for a while or they took a weapon that didn't belong to them and used it. It's does happen often enough that a motherfukker buys a gun yesterday or last week and goes on a spree but in a majority of gun crimes that weapon has been purchased for a long time and/or was taken by someone who shouldn't have had it or had access to it.
