I Don’t live in US but Wouldn’t this background check affect more black people in US?
Due to racist history, I’d assume lawmakers would make it more difficult for black people

Most of the mass shooters bought their guns from gun stores so they had back ground checks, so this is much to do about nothing. :camby:

People calling out cats in Congress still don’t realize that it’s people behind the scenes pulling the strings and influencing decisions/non-decisions. Get that dirty money out of Congress (not going to happen) and you’ll start to see meaningful progress being made with these type of topics.

For whatever reason, these celebrities refuse to keep it 100% honest and call it for it really is and how things operate.
Celebrities? Huh? What😑

You know exactly what I mean. Don't pretend to play dumb. Everyone is scared to call the real culprits, which are the lobbyist that dictate and influence Congress actions/inactions. Listen to a politicians logic about why they did/didn't pass certain bills and legislations and tell me that someone isn't influencing their decisions.

People don't want to call it for what it really is and it's mind-boggling especially when it's obvious what's going on. If you're going to use your public platform to call things out, then keep it 100% honest about what's really going on since they're well aware of it more than the average person.

A lot of people say taking certain measures won’t stop these shootings, but it could stop a few, and slow some down. If the person buying the gun has to wait a little longer, perhaps something could change in their lives that would stop them from going through with it.

The odds of regular ppl and kids getting gunned down are substantially higher now. Remember when you had to be involved with street shyt to be at risk or the occasional stray bullet?

If they're already considering those actions, then they're too far gone to be saved.

Not true. People have been talked out of suicide, and other situations.

It's a difference between being talked out of suicide and committing mass murder. Even if those people get talked out of suicide, whose to say that they won't eventually try it again down the road? In most cases, you'd only be delaying the inevitable.

One step of many. If we are going to "This won't stop this" and decide to do nothing, then its more decades of dumb shyt where we either find a panacea or don't do a thing.
I’ve just assumed the folks who say that are just arguing in bad faith and paying them no mind. Texas changing their gun laws and age limit last year literally lead to this tragedy. No one should be able to own a gun at fukking. I’m not even sure 21 is mature enough. There should be significant hurdles you have to clear to own a gun at such a young age.

Anyone against stricter gun laws is against public safety. They’re also acknowledging that murdering children in school is perfectly fine to them

@The God Poster @br82186

He's stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Even if he said "You know what, because of this shyt we aren't playing tonight, I want my players to go home and be with their families."

He ain't the GM or owner, he'd be fired and replaced. If the sponsors for the team stood with him or left, if the rest of the NBA stopped and the company's that worked with them stopped......which in turn would fukk up states and cities money....then, only then could we begin to have a serious discussion. But where do we go from there? This doesn't change overnight, or in a week, a month, a year....we cant expect people to just not work, some of which just not do what they love to do until things are fixed.

Over 400 million guns available to Americans. If they 100% stopped sales and making them tonight, there'd still be no hope.
This. There's more guns in America than there are people to shoot them. Throw in the proliferation of ghost guns that you can easily make via additive manufacturing and it's a wrap.
