around a quarter of federal prisoners are there for 924c violations and most of them are black, laws like this are second only to drug laws at making us victims of the carceral state yet some of you beg for more, it's absolutely shameful

This is the exact reason why 2A Gun people are fighting because of your exact post. Gun grabbers won’t be satisfied until there are 30 laws and regulations, but what happens when people are still shooting eachother after all these goddamn laws? Guns are BANNED in certain places and gun crime is still a problem in thesw places.

How do you track a gun that's been given or sold to someone else? How do you track a gun that's legitimately lost? How do you track a gun that's stolen?

The fact there are active legislators encouraging gun purchasing due to their ties to lobbyists is enough for me to accept any type of gub control laws. You have to start somewhere.

There is an NRA conference this week in Texas. shyt isn’t going anywhere fast. They will weather the anger storm for a few weeks(days) and then get back to normal.

Charge parents for negligence if their child under 21 commits a mass shooting (espeically if it's your gun or it was ordered to your home)

Stronger background checks for guns

Enforce much stronger action to reports of sketchy activity - too many times, other students have warned about these kids, but the schools or police did nothing. Heck, put in tax or financial incentives so they can take it seriously.

Undergo annual counseling/psychiatric evaluation for gun owners. Or heck - make psychiatric/therapeutic appointments standardized the same way that an annual physical check up is done at the hospital.

You don't even have to ban guns entirely. Just hold more people accountable.

How do detectives solve cases? The us gov't can find and and track sleeper cells around the world but a gun within their own borders is too great a task?

I think a fair compromise for gun control would be people under 30 can't buy guns, unless they get a co-sign from someone 40+.
If a young person comitts a crime with a gun, the legal owner has to share at least 1/2 of the sentence of the perpetrator.

How are you going to get any gun control laws as long as those lobbyist are in the picture? It’s one question that people refuse to answer or acknowledge. No one wants to mention the word “lobbyist” in their solution to help solve the problem.

The problem is that these folks are holding onto power and getting paid by these organizations. Also keep in mind you have dumbasses who treat the 2nd amendment like it’s the 1st and only thing in the constitution.
