But he had patience with Jake Delhomme's 5 interceptions in the playoffs throwing ass :dwillhuh:
Why you gotta bring up old stuff :francis:

Nah but honestly he had Jake on lock

Someone please tell me if im wrong but didn't Steve tell Jake that he wasn't a good QB but he a good dude or something like that? I think they were sitting on the bench or something. Brb fact check :laff:

We all knew it was true. Like I said... I never really liked Cam until he got into that truck accident. He really seemed different after that.

Steve Smith still the GOAT undersized wideout though :to: you know he slapped Cam in the mouth at least 9 times in practice too
what kinda shyt is that :heh:

It clearly states that Smitty's issues were with Cam being a young QB in terms of football knowledge. Not as a person.

Still the GOAT Panther, but c'mon fam.

Was gonna post this in the season thread earlier. Not at all surprised anytime the word "confrontation" and Steve Smith are involved. I was hot like everyone else when we got rid of Smitty, but the more i thought about it, i gotta agree with Gross that it was best for both parties. Seeing how Killa's demeanor is, the last thing you want is to have a psychopath WR in his ear.
That being said, we definitely miss his attitude and overall toughness. We still haven't replaced his fukk-the-world mentality and it shows this season.
Panthers needed a guy like him who wouldn't have backed down against Denver.

Delhomme: “I apologize, bro.”

Smith: “Hey, I know you feel like crap. I mean, you’re not a very handsome guy anyway, so. But, the performer, the quarterback … I never really liked you as a quarterback. But as a person, that’s who I love. I love you as a person.”

Delhomme: “I appreciate it. [Inaudible] I just didn’t get enough on that damn ball. I knew where I was throwing it, I just threw it too high.”

89 savage :mjlol:

Also on record saying he the best QB he ever played with

Got no problem with that comment. He never played with a more advanced Cam.

I'd argue Cam's first 3 years are still as good as Jake. However, Smitty had playoff success with Jake so earned that nod.

There wasn't many other reasons I could think of why the best receiver in your franchise's history could be released

I see Carolina's FO logic between why they picked who they did....a transcendent young QB who seemingly could only mature through sole leadership or an older great receiver guy who they deemed a nuisance

They handled it very poorly and it doesn't sound like he was given too many chances to change and give the reigns up, but I gotta think Smitty himself knew that he should've gave Cam some more control

"But you're only 5'9? :dwillhuh:"
"Throw the fade or catch one - fukkboy:birdman: I ain't gonna tell you twice "

I still remember a game, think it was at Tampa, when he was double covered about 20+ yards down field and was caught on a mic yelling at Cam "Throw the fukking ball :demonic:"

:laff:

I wished he could have played and retired as only a Panther, but it was never going to work out that way. His personality is too big for him to have taken a step back and hand the team over to a young QB and LB.
