what happened is the point guards are eating the ball too much..
2 guard have to run through screens to get to spots so they can either catch and shoot or drive and shoot.
but part of them became overly too ball dominant making PG off ball PG.. and then you have PG who wants to score rendering the running around of the 2 Guard only good to open up their own shots.
heck nowadays PG will play the 2 guard and run through screens to allows their combo guard some offensive variety.

Look at this years draft, there are 3 guys in the lottery who are PGs that are 6'4" or taller.
Exum, D'angelo, Dunn, Murray, Mudiay etc etc all these guys who would have been SGs all want to play the 1.

Wade not at that level anymore, jimmy just below them tbh. I know he had 50 last game but he still behind demar and klay.
Also, historically speaking the 2 guard spot has always been fairly weak. The late 90s and early 00s with Vince, AI, Ray, Redd, Stackhouse, Tmac and Kobe were a real aberration and a result of guys wanting to be like Jordan.

I'm not trying to be funny and I know we were spoiled in the past but what do you mean when you say "elite"? I understand the "pure" part but what does "elite" mean?
