It is a simple mathematically proven fact that the more weapons there are in any given area leads to the possible and eventual use of said weapons. If the guns are not there, nobody can shoot. The fact that you can easily purchase firearms in many states without background checks is fukking insane. Look at other developed countries with strict gun laws and look at the vastly lower homicides.

I couldn't imagine living in a place where potentially anyone could be strapped
