There is this thing called salary cap. How much he makes himself including building a stadium (which he didn't pay in full) and what happens in salary cap are two different things.

I think you mean 20 years because within the past 30 years, Dallas has won 3 rings and he hasn't been the owner of the Cowboys for 30 years anyway. How do you cheer for philly who hasn't amounted to shyt since 1960? Jimmy Johnson was not going to come back after 1994. He has already said this. The conflict just made his decision easier.

Breh my franchise didn't know what to do with football in the earlier decades as you can tell by the franchise stats, player history etc.. We just started becoming a solid franchise in the early 00s. We been cursed with bad management financial etc... Eagles were close to moving a couple of times.

Breh it's been almost 30 years and this franchise hasn't done shyt since Jimmy build them players. You will never win until Jerry leaves.

Its a new regime. Old Jerruh woulda gave him his bread as soon as the Eagles was said to get him. But nah, fukk dat. We'll find his replacement.

only replacement is Adrian, and i feel Jones destroyed the good faith ability to sign all day.
when, he lowballed Murray and had a lack of good faith.
FOH coming from a team that got Riley Cooper and got rid of every hot offensive player you fukking had for the last few years. Stop it dude.

I am waiting to see what Philly is up to.
maybe Philly forces murray[haven't hit the sports news to see if he did finalize in Philly]
to match dallas's offer,...
plus what else Philly is up to with all these bizarre chip Kelly moves.

It hasn't even been 20 years let alone 30. The last time Dallas won was 1996 which was 19 years ago. It took you 40 years to become a solid franchise? Once again....Jerry isn't running shyt.

Nah man. Everyone that has ever known anything, knows that Jerry's top priority is winning. That's it. It sounds like he actually wanted to pay out more to Murray, and his advisors (one of which is his kid) said no.

that's deflection on Jerry's part with that advisor bullshyt.
I ain't goin.

Did you skip the qualifier that I gave in that it lengthens the time for the team to come with a long term deal? We have no idea what they have offered as they haven't even discussed anything since October according to Mike Fisher. No team is going to give another receiver a Calvin Johnson contract. Even Detroit is wanting to get out of that contract. Dallas is spending money differently nowadays. Don't see how people cannot see that. Also, I mean which is it though for people, Is Murray the MVP or is Dez the MVP? For the record, I do agree that Dez is the MVP for this team.

:comeon: I am pretty sure before slapping him with the franchise tag, Jerry was throwing numbers at Dez. Hard to believe there was no talks with a very important offensive player about a long term contract since October of last year

If you guys are gonna keep him you gonna have to pay him between 13 million and 16 million per year for 5 plus years. There is no way around it, because objectively speaking he is probably the second best receiver in the entire NFL . Calvin Johnson makes 16 million per year, Guys like Mike Wallace and DeWayne Bowe was making 12 million per year.

I dont think Jerry has offered him anything close to that because he would have been signed.

Dez seems to genuinely love to be a cowboy. His off the field issues are behind and he has immensely improved in regards to practice meetings and the playbook and his production on the field has been outstanding. There is no reason why they should not pay him long term 13 million plus per year with a large sum of guaranteed money. (other than salary cap issues)

No doubt Dez is the most important playmaker (More important long term than DeMarco was for that offense) on your offense and it is imperative that Jerry does not turn this into a volatile situation by low balling him. Dez is an emotional and volatile guy and things can sour real quick. Safe Treading.

In my lifetime, I have watched the Cowboys beat the Eagirls more than lose to them.

The money per year was never the problem. It was the guaranteed money. Dallas actually had an offer in the 14 million dollar range IIRC but the guaranteed money was in the 20 million dollar range. I think that's the reason DT hasn't signed yet too. Deal nearly done in October but Dez fired his agent.
Ok my bad found it. It was 10 year 114 million with 20 million guaranteed with a 5 million dollar signing bonus. So 11.4 million per year. The guaranteed is the biggest problem.I'm sure Dallas would offer him a 7 year 96 million dollar contract. But he won't accept 25 million guaranteed. But I think Calvin got 60 million guaranteed. That's not happening in today's NFL.

11.4 million per year is a joke

13 million is decent

Dez warrants at least 30 million guaranteed on a long term deal for a guy of his caliber

The Cowboys will get someone as good or better in the 2nd or 3rd round. There is nothing special about Demarco Murray.

1. i dont think it matters as much as it should re:good faith. if dallas trades for AP it wouldnt matter and if AP gets his money he'd probably go anyway. The good faith argument may have merit like it did with Gore backing out of his deal with Philly but im not convinced. i think it does matter to cowboys who are already there though, like Dez. they jerked Murray and they tagged Dez...Dez may have never dreamt about leaving Dallas before and he still isnt likely to IMO but he's going to probably give it more thought next time around.

2. yeah philly finalized with murray. it was a win-win for them because theyd either get murray themselves or theyd force dallas' hand.
