I'm a huge MJ stan, but Stevie has better vocal abilities, better song writing skills, was a better musician, and had greater longevity even at Michael Jackson's death.
Was little kids trying to be like Stevie Wonder? Have you ever tried to wear a Stevie Wonder Jacket? How many hoes Stevie Wonder made faint? Can Stevie Wonder moonwalk? Have kids ever made they family gather together and watch they Stevie Wonder routine?

You're a kid for up to 18 years. Yes it makes a big impact on who you will be as an adult, but not completely, because tastes and perspectives change with time. If we go by averages, we may live to our mid 70s, so we have 50-something years of adulthood to contend with. Plus Stevie ain't gotta moonwalk when he can dreamwalk with his words.

MJ is no doubt a bigger cultural icon, if not the biggest in music ever. I'll miss Stevie's catalog more than Michaels, if one were to go away. The question is who makes better music.
