Still the worst playcall in recent memory.

pete didnt want marshawn winning superbowl mvp

Why would any coach especially one like Pete or anyone in the Seahawks organization give a shyt about who wins MVP?

It's as simple as Pete and Darrell Bevell over thinking the play and making a bad play call. They thought the Pats expected a run so they were going to go with their bread and butter play on the goal line. Problem is Brandon Browner was no longer a Seahawk and saw the play happening. Bad play call, bad throw, bad pick by Kerse, bad attempt at getting the ball by Lockette. Great play by Browner and Butler. The rest is history.

Anyone who really can sit there and think that a coach would rather lose a game then have a certain player win MVP needs to :camby:out of the Coliseum.

But they were expecting a pass play, and that's why Malcolm Butler knew exactly when to break:mjlol:
I think there was a stat that it was the only interception in the NFL that season in that situation and there had been a ton of opportunities. A fumble on a running play was probably a much more likely outcome.

Both plays would have resulted in touchdowns more often than not.

People keep thinking Lynch punching it in was a given. I remember last season against the 49ers he needed four runs at the one yard line to punch it in.

Not to mention I believe SI took a poll of NFL personnel and most thought the call was a fine call.

BeliGOAT just outsmarted Petey boy.

Even if you were going to pass you could have a run a play action boot and get Russell on the move to either pass or tuck it in and run for the TD. :snoop:
