I can't believe i'm taking up for Pelosi but look at it this way.

the rona hit and both parties agreed to give americans money for groceries. their fridge and cupboards were stocked.

dems - those groceries are gonna run out. lets give them money for more so they won't have to worry about that shyt for a while
repubs - nah, they have enough and by the time they run out they will be able to buy their own groceries. in fact lets just have an experiment to see. you all are tripping

No, she isn’t right. Unlike every other bill, this one has the support of Trump, which places the ball squarely in the court of McConnell and Republicans. Pelosi has any opportunity, just weeks from election day, to drive a wedge between Senate Republicans - many of whom now fighting near desperate re-election bids - and the party’s wildly popular leader. That she still refuses to sign on to Mnuchin’s offer is a strategic blunder that will literally see millions face starvation and homelessness.

All of you who agree with her position have ZERO skin in the game and aren’t materially impacted by a delayed stimulus, making your condescending participation in this thread unwanted and insulting.

If you're looking at it from a political stand point. It's not cool to play politics with peoples lives. Trump obviously is playing politics. Pelosi is taking it seriously. Either to do whats right or you don't. Why compromise in a situation like this. Republicans got everything they wanted. Tax cuts, bail outs for corporations. The stock market is up. Rich people got richer during the pandemic so why do you want to short change everyone else? That's the root of the issue. Not politics.

and the mnuchin bill is 1200, plus 1600 a month, which is enough to pay the average mortgage in america. would you rather pelosi get people that, or absolutely nothing?

and pelosi passing bills that were DOA in the senate is completely meaningless. i might as well have wrote that bill here at my house, for how much weight it carries. thats just the reality of the situation given the balance of power, the only number that matters is what the president will sign off on. right now, it's 1.8 trillion. there are no words to describe how meaningless it is that pelosi wrote a 3.4 trillion dollar bill in the House

She came down a trillion. She compromised. 45 made this a political issue. The states they claim are mismanaging funds are the states funding those anti-mask states.

This "sticking it to libs" thing needs to stop or we should just let those states fund themselves without the big bad blue states. I want to see the latter.

I'm certain they would run states down and have them looking like Mississippi or worse ALABAMA.

You have a car. You need your car to get back and forth to work and through no fault of your own, the engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

Republicans want to give your car a quick fix so you can get back and forth to work for another week until the engine goes dies for good. Keep in mind it could go as soon as you drive it a mile.
Democrats want to rebuild or replace your engine and give you money for an uber so you won't miss work.

And if you miss x amount of days you will get fired.

which option are you gonna go with? keep in mind, the car isn't running and you have no uber money.
