The Republicans (Mitch) - gave up on 2020 a while ago and had no intention of supporting a full stimulus plan.

They know Trump will lose and so they are now focusing on 2024. They dont want a full stimulus bill on the Republican "ledger", and would let Biden get elected and approve a huge bill under Democratic leadership.

Just gave up on this bill for the next few months, we all have been played

I think Pelosi and House Democrats have an obligation to speak to the American people and explain why they aren’t receiving a stimulus. Reports indicate that Pelosi won’t budge on certain points of contention with the White House. Ok, then, what are those points of disagreement? Let the American people, those whose lives are just weeks away from being severely impacted if a stimulus isn’t passed, know what’s specifically objectionable in what the White House is offering. This vagueness is dishonest and a disservice to the House Democrats’ constituency.
