I don’t think stimulus checks should have been given to everyone in the first place. Between extended unemployment and the SBA programs, that covered a lot of people impacted financially. If you didn’t lose your employment, there wasn’t a need for a stimulus payment.

you're missing the entire point of the stimulus check. even people who kept their jobs throughout this pandemic have cut spending due to economic uncertainty. the stimulus was so people could spend money boosting confidence in local markets. people who kept their jobs with extra money via the stimulus would have been more likely to keep spending in their local economy which would inspire a ripple effect of other hesitant consumers eventually spending more too.
