you're missing the entire point of the stimulus check. even people who kept their jobs throughout this pandemic have cut spending due to economic uncertainty. the stimulus was so people could spend money boosting confidence in local markets. people who kept their jobs with extra money via the stimulus would have been more likely to keep spending in their local economy which would inspire a ripple effect of other hesitant consumers eventually spending more too.

I didn’t miss the point of the stimulus, just felt it was a dumb point to begin with. Stimulating the economy in the middle of a pandemic when unemployment has tripled, and businesses are collapsing left and right, was a stupid strategy. But that’s a reflection of our leadership

We already established what the supposed purpose of the stimulus was and like I said it was stupid. Again, trying to “stimulate” the economy in the middle of a catastrophe was dumb and reflection of our leadership.
