North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
That’s what every other industrialized nation has done. Covered a part of payroll so people keep their jobs and don’t have to go through rehiring and all that.

That should have been the playbook here.

Its only lasts thru March. A lot of those employees probably found new jobs.

Again this is a bandaid. The best way to help the airline industry is by increasing travel. They fukked that up by not doing a total shutdown and incentivizing it with a massive stimulus.

Business travel is the heart of the airline industry. They government has allowed companies to adapt to not flying and working remotely. It will literally take years for things to go back to precovid business travel if at all.

And what about the other industries that support or rely on the airline industry? They don't get nothing?

It's all connected. Propping them up for a few months won't solve nothing. And if the democrats dont win the senate, that money will have been wasted.

If I was one of the people that got laid off, I would find a new gig. They be wondering for the next two months if they will be getting laid off yet again.

At the end of the day, Democrats shouldn't have compromised. It was a lose lose proposition.

No bill and republicans blame democrats

And how with this bill, republicans will blame all politicians like they usually do.

Republicans will pivot to "opening back up the country" as the reall culprit and continue to blame democrats.
No because people were clamoring for Pelosi to accept a deal and provide relief because everyone isn't rich like her and needed something.

A lot of people want it both ways.

Ain't no relief in this bill

What you all dont understand is fighting the spread of this virus AND the stimulus are married to one another.

That's why we're in this predicament now.

I have no delusions about any motives.

But the people who don't believe in large stimulus believe it will force states to open up and cost less money.

They ultimately don't care about the virus as they don't view it as deadly and all of this is an overreaction. Further, with a vaccine out, they see no need to continue paying people not to work.

People voted for those people because they agree with them and this is the result.:ehh:

the states have been open :mjlol:. Let’s keep it a buck. Most of those restrictions haven’t been followed. The traveling, the parties, the protests. All have gone on without consequence. Some states refused to lockdown altogether. That’s why cases and deaths are up. These so called lockdowns are the real fake news. Can’t keep using that as an excuse.

again businesses that travel the most, a lot of them have tasted the money saved by not traveling. By working remotely.

the leisure sector it seems, is what people care about the most. There haven’t been any airline restrictions. People have been able to fly for a long ass times. Stores have been open for months.

It seems people think that restaurants, bars and similar businesses are what’s causing the job losses. No. The financial sector is thriving. If anything, this pandemic has giving companies the excuse to trim back even further without guilt or pushback.
