I live in americus, georgia and applied for unemployment in late august and haven't received anything yet. How long will it take for me to get something?

Follow up weekly. Call and send emails.

I’m not in GA, but I applied late March and didn’t start getting paid until August, but only for August and going forward. They still owe me retroactive, so I have to get on them about that. Hopefully it’s more streamlined there.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
i think there is a large swath of people who dont really understand how bad it is out here

you got some people who never stopped working and are doing mostly ok but may be uneasy

you have some people who have been out of work and cooped up and somewhat insulated from the goings on

i returned and let me tell you..businesses are big time fukked. every business i know in my industry is operating at like 40-50% pre covid revenue. we may have to shut down because the owner would lose less money simply paying property tax than operating

the lead instructor broke his contract and took a job elsewhere so i have to pick up the scraps somehow..i lost all my benefits including insurance starting 11/30 and have like 300 left of unemployment to claim if we go under :russ:

I've been dealing with this shyt since day one. My site usually has 45 employees. We only have 19 including me (I'm the general manager). Can't take any days off. If someone calls out I have to work the shift. And I can't hire new people because of fears from corporate that we might have to lay them off a week or a month later.

And they expected/expect employees that I laid off in March will come back. They really think people are waiting at home right now to come back to work :dahell:
Nah, most of them found other jobs.

25% of $300 is $75.

The state unemployment doesn't even payout $75?! :mindblown:

edit: actually it's suppose to be $400, so the state needed to payout a minimum of $100 in unemployment benefits which they couldn't do.

bu bu but blue states, taxes, debt, mismanagement, no "slush funds" to support states, something something....
