Friend of mine has an interesting theory. He said that congress is probably waiting until everyone who signed up for UI back in March/April to run out before the add any supplemental extension. He didn’t know if you can reapply after your time frame runs out tho

No, everyone collecting unemployment now and whose unemployment runs out in December would be included in any new bill that passes next year. The entire impetus to craft a new stimulus is because their benefits are about to run out and Democrats do not want them to have to wait until February to have their benefits renewed. If Biden wins and Dems keep the House and take the Senate, a new stimulus would provide unemployment benefits to those whose unemployment expired on Dec 26th.
