Pelosi’s position doesn’t even make sense. Trump is literally pitching her a whiffle ball from 2 feet away and she still misses. All they have to do is vote on the bill and let McConnell take any heat that results from him and his party rejecting it, which isn’t even likely, since this is a bill Trump is asking McConnell’s chamber to pass.

Can’t front. I almost relish the schadenfreude of seeing the Dems lose the House because of how Pelosi has bungled this. I don’t want it to happen, but I can’t deny that it would be hilarious to witness.

The real risk in Pelosi’s hardball is that should Trump lose in November and the Senate flips, is there going to be a deal in the lame duck? Or will it be sabotage things for Biden and Dems coming in?

There is a funding bill needed to be passed in December, another continuing resolution. But that’s the only other window before Inauguration Day.

But taking a deal for sake of deal isn’t what she should do. Especially since rich people don’t need anymore tax breaks and backdoor slush funds. On balance, taking the deal would be better..

She shouldn’t have agreed to the funding deal she brokered with Republicans last month. It was another stupid move that speaks to the very real possibility that she never wanted to pass a stimulus and that her refusal to cede ground is theatre.

But she's going to take care of people...retroactively!

This interview had me heated. People are broke. Now. Do something. Somebody. For fukk's sake.
Blame republicans for not taking action back in May and waiting until after the benefits expired to begin even pretending to care about extending benefits.

Despite what you say about Pelosi, so far she's gotten Republicans to move from a 500bn bill and 200/wk unemployment benefit to if reports are true up to 2tn in aid.

Everyone seems to want a big bill except Mitch. :yeshrug:

When you got two of the most progressive people in your party telling you to consider taking the deal because people need it now, you should probably listen, but she dismissed them like Some little peons :francis:
