If you make the assumption that the GOP is looking to later cycles and want to set up Biden as horribly as possible

scenario 1: 2.3T bill is passed. Makes no sense for GOP to do this, helps Biden/ Shows weakness/ dose not all in line with B.S 'fiscally conservative"

scenario 2: 1.8T is passed. Makes sense for GOP but not DEMs, especially pre-election. DEM's are weak, potential last-minute voters for republicans, and gives the GOP the whole "we did help everyone! while remaining fiscally conservative" in later cycles. GOP will not turn the bill down.

Pelosi is putting all her chips on the table for a DDD sweep. Risky? Yes. But if she is right the ultimate payoff. Few years down the line talking point

• a stabilized economy + growth due to the stimulus DEMS provided, do you see what the GOP wanted to give ya'll?
• a segway into a more universally accepted UBI
• A potential better response to covid.
• A personal opinion that if helicopter money Dems want to provide is provided, SPX 4500+ within the next few years(EASY).

At this point taking the 1.8T bill only helps DEM's as a hedge, a poor one at that.

no body cares about the debt. It's used for political purposes. and people speak on it like if it doesn't get paid by a certain amount of time, the world will end. the economy will crumble.

China owns over $1 trillion of our debt and could crash our economy by dumping those bonds into the market, but that doesn't stop Trump and the republicans from hurling insults and starting beefs.

Mexico owns $40 billion of our debt, but that didn't stop Trump from saying they will pay for our border wall

Debt is what makes the world rotate. it's not going anywhere. Bush ballooned it with wars and now it's part of our dna.

the only time it matters is when someone is trying to get elected.

You have a car. You need your car to get back and forth to work and through no fault of your own, the engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

Republicans want to give your car a quick fix so you can get back and forth to work for another week until the engine goes dies for good. Keep in mind it could go as soon as you drive it a mile.
Democrats want to rebuild or replace your engine and give you money for an uber so you won't miss work.

And if you miss x amount of days you will get fired.

which option are you gonna go with? keep in mind, the car isn't running and you have no uber money.

should've been saying this in May when they tried to avoid this in the first place. you can't blame democrats for being consistent. republicans haven't been consistent. and the longer this drags out, the more it will hurt them since they control the white house and the senate. they are more concerned about filling a SCOUS seat anyway. I mean they're actually having hearings on that shyt instead of hearings on aid for americans.

"we passing a bill with or without you but if you do something now at least you can display some sort of empathy for the American people suffering"

the money isn't the problem, it's who the money is going too

if the deficit was so important, they wouldn't have cut taxes. trump is hiding his returns because he hasn't paid millions in taxes. corporations pay little to no taxes. you have an over bloated military budget. If they really cared about deficits they would address those issues buy they never do. Israel also gets billions in aid from us every year.
