that's not how this works. the starting point was 0, not 3..4 trillion. shes not paying for a dime of her bill

the number is whatever the republicans will sign off on. that's just the way it is until february :yeshrug: if you dont want a bill until then, that's fine too. but those are your two choices

The "starting point" was never zero. If the starting point were zero, we wouldn't have or be having discussions about this. shyt would have been killed in May. The purse is in the House. The Senate can not negotiate without a number. You know this. The Senate wanting to give zero is not equal to the starting point of negotiating. You know this and I know this.

should've been saying this in May when they tried to avoid this in the first place. you can't blame democrats for being consistent. republicans haven't been consistent. and the longer this drags out, the more it will hurt them since they control the white house and the senate. they are more concerned about filling a SCOUS seat anyway. I mean they're actually having hearings on that shyt instead of hearings on aid for americans.
maybe its just a reflex in here, but you guys have this misconception that i'm defending the republicans. i'm not :dead: the republicans are fukking scumbags. they dont want a deal and they dont care about helping anyone

so KNOWING THAT FACT, the question is how do we approach it. the obvious answer is take the 1.8 trillion, and force them to either take it, or turn it down right before the election. for pelosi to be naive about who she's dealing with is frankly, embarrassing

no, it's zero because the people who have to sign off on it are fine with it being 0

this has never been about anything except how much up past 0 we could shame them, and realistically might pass. right now, that number is 1.8 trillion

you're assigning leverage to pelosi that she just does not have :yeshrug:

Im for supporting everyone unemployed. But I would take it a step further and pay all of the back rent to landlords, it would give tenants a fresh start and landlords the money they lost.
:childplease: so some hipster scumbag in san francisco gets his 3,000 dollar rent back paid, while someone paying 500 in the south gets their 500 rent back paid, and that's supposed to be fair? fukk that :mjlol: same dollar amount for everyone. flat rate

They're all DOA in the Senate. Republicans are going to say no, and in the off chance they don't, McConnell's not bringing any of this shyt to a vote.
then what does pelosi have to lose by forcing mcconnell and the senate repubs to be the ones to turn it down, 2 weeks before an election?

this is basic common sense

:gucci:

You don't think this will be retroactive.

ohhh so you think if the DEMS sweep the GOP will just be like "oh fukk ya'll getting nothing till feb"

Another potential scenario is that DEMS win, they walk into the GOP like whatsup:troll:
"we passing a bill with or without you but if you do something now at least you can display some sort of empathy for the American people suffering"

Chess, not Checkers. like I said this is a super risky bet but damn if we get DDD this cycle :whoo:
If something is passed early spring of next year, how will that affect those people who’s benefits ran out prior to March 2021?

Will they just be assed out?

so you basically have a crack head mentality. good to know. you basically chose to delay the inevitable of you getting fired.
thats pretty tall talk from someone who cant explain pelosi's path to having her bill passed

you're completely delusional :dead: im sorry for looking at what's actually happening, and not listening to pelosi read me bedtime stories. embarrassing

She can't 'force' them to do anything because they don't care. That is nothing more than the very political posturing people are complaining about right now. It does nothing to actually the money in the hands of the American people, and it makes Pelosi and the Dems look weak and feckless again for backing down from their position again.

stupid position

making mcconnell and the senate republicans look like monsters two weeks before the election is infinitely more important than you thinking "pelosi would look weak" for taking the 1.8 trillion. which narrative would rule the news cycles? pelosi looks weak, or republicans dont care about the american people?

and :dead: at you thinking her taking the 1.8 looks weak, but the senate republicans laughing in her fukkin face at her bills doesnt make her look weak. absolutely delusional

It's not Nancy. Who controls the purse? A bill is passed and that's the number Moscow has to work with. 0 is simplistic. There is always a number. 0 isn't one of them. Especially considering situation and circumstance.

In the simplest context, when you apply for a job or interview when is the number ever zero in regards to your compensation? You are in the room negotiating for a reason zero dollars is never an option or opinion on the table. 3.6 vs BIG FAT ZERO? Where does this happen in negotiations?

Except McConnell does not care if he looks like a monster. Did you not see that debate? He was cackling like a comic book villain when he was called out about not doing anything regarding the stimulus. What you're suggesting is for the Democrats to point the finger at McConnell as if that's going to change his mind. Democrats do that all time (including right now regarding ACB), and all it does is make them look weak because Republicans do not care.

when the employer is OK with paying you 0, or not giving you the job

the senate republicans dont care about passing another bill. the ONE FACTOR, the ONE PIECE of leverage that pelosi has, is shaming them into it before the election. she has utterly and completely failed at taking advantage of that

so they can not care, and each go down 5 points in the polls. collins cares. mcsally cares. tillis cares. ernst cares, gardner cares, daines cares.

mitch doesnt care because his seat is safe, fool. the republicans who are gonna lose, do care
