I get the play Reagan did the same thing trying to make american products cheaper. But that was before China came through a crushed the buildings. They can't make products cheap enough, They now have an alternative to the dollar, They sanction half the world so they can't do business with them and cede that market to the Chinese. Japan is still around and so is europe. Hell even Colombia makes half way decent electronics now.

Here’s the thing, Trump is not really in control of this.
Again, China instigated it and Trump retaliated. This isn’t on Trump to stop the bleeding, it’s on China. Really both of them. We don’t know why China is doing it, but we do know China has exponentially increased their research and production when it comes to making their own Semiconductors, Chips, A.I, etc. recently like they did for batteries.
They also didn’t just do this to the U.S, they hit everybody with the tax and limited access to processed rare earth materials. We really don’t know why they did this. Tariffs counter? Resource accumulation? Strengthening independence and infrastructure? See the potential for a better play/deal with the U.S? Nobody really knows.
That’s what “makes this different” from April. It’s not simply Trump being a buffoon and creating chaos this time. It’s for the best interest in both countries and really the world for these two countries to work this out. That’s all I know.
In market terms, it was definitely due for a breather.

I didn’t see any plans to build any type of infrastructure for renewables, they never seriously made any plans for ev infrastructure, I didn’t see anything about batteries, and this shyt should’ve been popping decades ago, since at least the 80s but yet Microsoft meta nem sure seems like they motivated to build big ass nuclear plants and big ass data centers, where is this energy for other shyt
I know Samsung, tsmc, intel, and maybe Texas Instruments was given tax write off to build chip plants in America
Samsung might’ve finished, I’m pretty sure intel cancelled the Cleveland plant, tsmc don’t fukk with American workers, ti I think is still building but they focused on the cheaper chips not the cutting edge shyt

I know there was a factory planned for Syracuse cause I was looking at rental property there to profit from it. There was serious plans, i cant speak for everyone but it seriously looks like companies wanted to start building after they knew CHIP wouldn’t be gutted. The plant in Syracuse is “still happening” but they keep finding reasons to delay it. Schumer got them the start up money fast so something is gonna get built but I legit think they will shrink the project dramatically due to a legit fear they’ll get caught paying the rest of the factory out of pocket.
