Great beats, mediocre rhymes. Killer Mike is just so corny to me nowadays. He's like a fatter, more articulate version Lupe...guys who never really made it big, but had two or three songs get some kind of recognition...but they swear by everything that is rap, that they're the illest lyricists.

Much like Kanye, El-P is a much better producer than he is an emcee. The RTJ albums are dope, but R.A.P. Music is a damn masterpiece: Killer Mike at his best, with banging beats behind him. Sure I'd wish he'd drop some non-RTJ related material every now and then (a new Pledge album perhaps), but I'm not gonna front on him for doing what's working for him.

I agree with most of what u said except Kanye being a better (rapper) than El-P. That's str8 up apples and oranges. El actually writes his shyt. Kanye does too sometimes, but nikka been carried by Rhymefest + whoever on GOOD music co-penning his shyt now....

by your logic there were only 6 big rappers ever. Lupe was big as hell, and Mike has been on multiple hit records. Just because they arent doing Molly Cyrus remixes doesnt mean they arent huge artist.

I'm glad Killer got to cross over a little bit, but that shyt aint getting love from his core fans. And he's gotta know it, as "clued in" as he is.

If you're a "run the jewels" fan, I already know what your "brand" of rap music is, and its not remotely tolerated outside of festivals where no one knows the songs anyways.

...and I consider myself one of the most "diverse" ears to rap/hip-hop out there.

In fact, if you're a RTJ fan but you dislike Macklemore (for no real reason), you're worse than Immortal Technique fans.
