The way Mike shytted on Kanye and Jay on Sea Legs was monumental..
I like the first album much more than the 2nd.
I like the first album much more than the 2nd.
Great beats, mediocre rhymes. Killer Mike is just so corny to me nowadays. He's like a fatter, more articulate version Lupe...guys who never really made it big, but had two or three songs get some kind of recognition...but they swear by everything that is rap, that they're the illest lyricists.![]()
how did Lupe fukking Fiasco and Killer Mike not "Make It" big... them nikkas are rich as hell and have grammys. Some of yall nikkas slow.
Much like Kanye, El-P is a much better producer than he is an emcee. The RTJ albums are dope, but R.A.P. Music is a damn masterpiece: Killer Mike at his best, with banging beats behind him. Sure I'd wish he'd drop some non-RTJ related material every now and then (a new Pledge album perhaps), but I'm not gonna front on him for doing what's working for him.
All that and they still didn't make it big...you missed my point sir, I never said they were broke or never won any awards...they just didn't break it big in the mainstream, well, Lupe did a little thanks to Kanye, but after his first album...slip.
you and I know, that you let hipster publications tell you that shyt. Two of the best rap albums of the past 5 years, without contention. Your opinion is flat out wrong.
you and I know, that you let hipster publications tell you that shyt.
And you and I, also know, that you haven't listened to either of those two albums in the last year.
Stop it.
Seriously.
I haven't heard it.... just the group name and the people I know who like it are off puttingKiller Mike is dope.
El-P is not dope.
El-P's production is not dope
Nothing that El-P brings to the table is dope
I'm glad Killer got to cross over a little bit, but that shyt aint getting love from his core fans. And he's gotta know it, as "clued in" as he is.
If you're a "run the jewels" fan, I already know what your "brand" of rap music is, and its not remotely tolerated outside of festivals where no one knows the songs anyways.
...and I consider myself one of the most "diverse" ears to rap/hip-hop out there.
Its just NOT good.
In fact, if you're a RTJ fan but you dislike Macklemore (for no real reason), you're worse than Immortal Technique fans.

authority?I haven't heard it.... just the group name and the people I know who like it are off putting
But who gives a fukk.... when did you become an authority on music.... why do you need the mainstream to validate your musical tastes
You're worse than the people you are trying to shyt on
