In the book "Beats Down!" Ye said he and Just Blaze sat around listening to "Supreme Clientele" while making their beats for the album.

So maybe that's what you remember. That quote is why I confused who made that beat. :yeshrug:

Fred.
No I read the exact quote from Just Blaze. That beat was made before Blueprint and he made it specifically with Ghost in mind.

In a conversation with legendary engineer, Young Guru, the producer talked about The Blueprint and how the only song that existed before the recording sessions was “Girls, Girls, Girls” which he created for Ghost.

“The only joint that preexisted was ‘Girls, Girls, Girls,’ which I had been holding for Ghostface [Killah],” Just told Guru. “The protools session was called ‘Ghostface.’”

In another interview Just explains how the beat wound up in Hov’s hands.

“I already had “Girls, Girls, Girls” made for a minute. I was toying with the idea of giving it to Ghostface. I played it for [Jay], and he was like, “Let’s go do it right now,'” Just explained in another interview with XXL. “I think he had already toyed with the idea of doing a record like that, where it wouldn’t be a huge smash, as far as a club record, but it was very visual.”

Found where I saw it. Peep the link

Good shyt but the original claim was Ghost had it and passed on it. According to this Ghost never had it.

You are correct sir. I didn’t make that claim just pointing out who made the beat and that it was, in fact, intended for Ghost.

From that interview and others I saw, Just sat on it and Ghost never got to hear it sadly

Think "Heard 'Em Say" was originally meant for Common.

Nas had the "We Gon' Make It" instrumental but didn't do anything with it and it eventually got to Kiss and Styles.
Thought Ras Kass has it first hence why he was hot with Alc once the Kiss version dropped?

Probably already mentioned. But Top Back was meant for Juve, with Tip being on the hook. Juve turned it down because it was "too loud"

Of course, he regretted that decision.
