Yup. And I believe Luchini was originally made for Jay, but IIRC Jay either passed on it or Camp Lo told Ski ":gucci:We already gave your boy Feelin' It, this is for us."

EDIT: It's a combo of both sorta lol. Jay wanted the beat but since he already took Feelin It from them he turned it down cuz he didn't want to look greedy :mjlol:
Damn....RD Hov would've floated on Luchini too

GZA supposedly had Ice Cream at one point
Interesting...I posted earlier that several beats from CL were meant for GZA but since Ghost & Rae could come in the studio and create songs faster; while GZA was more meticulous, they'd start lapping GZA and getting the other beats.

Ice Cream is classic af, but I would've loved to hear what GZA would've done with it...the beat sounds a little too lush & summer-y for LS, which is why it's such a good for for CL, but I know GZA would've done something raw.

Supposedly the beat for "Doin' It" was meant for Biggie but LL got the money to them first
This right here is like Nas with the "We Gon Make It" track....Biggie would have MURDERIZED "Doin It".

I mean damn, if he felt the same vibe LL was on when HE heard the track, Biggie might even have put Kim on it.

Hell.....with Biggie writing FOR her, Kim prollee would have killed themshyts, too.

The label tried to force Nothin On You on Lupe. Even if you listen to his version on YouTube you can tell he sounds lifeless, almost disgusted with the entire concept.
Lol thats what Lupe was crying about back then? smh

Not just that. He wouldn’t have gotten any publishing from any of those prepackaged songs and Atlantic also kept him on the shelf because he refused to convert his existing contract into a 360 deal. Lupe told Lyor Cohen that if he wasn’t going to give him his Masters then he wasn’t renegotiating his deal and Lyor basically told him “Your ass is on the shelf”

Even when Lasers came out he said that the compromise was he has to include Show Goes On and Never Forget You on the album and he got no publishing from either song

No lie... Kim on that beat in '96 sounds like a SMASH.

Luda just made that beat work for him.

Not like that beat was amazing

Nore said he's been kicking himself in the ass for the past 21 years for passing it on. :russ:

Edit:

Luda himself said he thought the beat was just cool but realized it was a hit cause everybody else was going crazy over it.

TBH I can actually see it working, that philosophies Socrates microscope shyt GZA be on would sound dope on "Ice Cream", I don't think the beat is too lush for Liquid Swords.

Many Men was originally a Nas joint

During an interview with Mass Appeal reflecting on The Lost Tapes, former A&R Lenny "Linen" Nicholson shared the fun fact about the Darrell "Digga" Branch instrumental.

“50 [Cent’s] song ‘Many Men’ was a Nas track first—he actually vocalled it," says Nicholson. "He was developing another artist named Nashawn… he had to massively impress Nas. If Nas started something, he would add his vocal to it and see if Nas would be impressed enough to keep it. [Nas] didn’t finish that track… that was a track that he just fell out of love with."

Nicholson, with permission from Nas, then gave the beat to Fif, a move that was pretty organic considering both artists were on Columbia Records' roster at the time.
"At that time 50 was looking for something just to stay busy and to keep writing," Nicholson adds. "I gave it to 50, and it turned into ‘Many Men.’"

Curtis needs to break this in his own words. That was a lifeline, along with "In da Club" that made his 5 year legacy

I still believe MJ would have floated on Superthug lmao

Now I'm picturing Mike dragging the "what what what what what" like the female in the background.
