You’re full of it.
https://verysmartbrothas.theroot.co...e-the-white-people-of-black-people-1814157214

The irony is it’s the black gays and feminists who move like the white people of the black community. Black gays abd feminists literally have their agendas co-opted by white people and this cannot be said for the “straight black pride” agenda.

You talk about us being divided but it’s the black gays and feminists who have chosen to separate themselves from/against black men.

You’ve got to be honest and stop being disingenuous. Don’t ignore black men being attacked and plotted against only to complain when we call it out and push back.

And you’re right

And as a straight black male I’m not saying that we are the inlynones that need to make a change, but they need to also

But at times it seems as if the loudest voice is the one for divisions.

I think if it wasn’t a way of life most black men (bro science) are against, LGBT wouldn’t have been ostracised as much as it is

don't be obtuse, white supremacy both overt and now subtle has been the dominate philosophy of American society for four centuries. I think we can call it a popular narrative. and by your logic it is true and those who hold the unpopular opinion of it being incorrect are wrong.
no, you're mincing my words. i said you (string bell) have an unpopular opinion and you go into feminist debates and get chased out. linking that to being silenced is stupid. y'all look for fights (online, too. which makes this seem even more depressing) and then talk about how your ego is under attack...

now, tell me your opinion on feminism and i'll tell you why you're unpopular...

'You blacks come into white spaces and get chased out and cry racism. you look for fights and racism so now surprise you find it and claim there is a system oppressing you.'

exact logic you are using

no, that's what you want me to say. however, i'm a black man and go into those same spaces with a different attitude. you want to use language that someone else is using to describe a situation you aren't personally experiencing. especially considering it's the internet...

What does that have to do with black feminist propaganda?
Nothing but another excuse and a weak attempt at redirecting the energy toward men again.
When these movements were started 30-40 years ago, hip hop wasn't even big like that. Pathetic.

I was addressing the overarching theme of the thread, which is that straight, masculine black men are being silenced. I merely offered up one reason this is happening, which is the perversion of our values through the medium of music and the genre of rap. I think that the emasculation of men and the silencing of positive black voices can be attributed in no small measure to the shift we've witnessed since the 90s in mainstream rap's content.

I'm not a black conservative, I'm a moderate.
I'm not going to pretend to know what's actually in your head, so I'll take your word for it.

This thread reads like some red pill/mra/incel shyt though, with people feeling they're being silenced, because their opinions are being challenged.

Right, in other words, "straight black men are the white men of the black community".

.........except the collective experience of straight black men in America is not at all parallel to white men whether you're using the black community or American society as a whole as a frame of reference. If anything the privileges afforded to black lgbt and black women in the black community, and the environment that caters to the cognitive ability to be able to deny and project those privileges align more with white male privilege in society as a whole.

Yet, at the same time the popular narrative doesn't represent this reality, where we are painted as some kind of oppressors of those relatively privileged groups, and even the slightest hint at a protest from us gets us labeled & shouted down as misogynoir, homophobic, potential abusers/rapist, and terrorist etc etc

And I've yet to see someone present an legit challenge to the arguments being presented here. From what I can see your side has presented nothing but a bunch of labeling, name-calling, and shaming language.

Nothing new at all about the silencing.

TBH, we did have an UNPRECEDENTED moment in 1995 to maximize our energy and passion with meaningful organization, advocacy, and collective development.

We fumbled that opportunity. Badly.

Meanwhile, other movements (Gay marriage/LGBT, feminism/domestic violence/sexual harassment, undocumented immigration) have been better organized, better focused, better funded and more purposeful.

Hopefully, we'll get back on track.

black love, unity, and music
Y'all act like black women don't care about black men. That's clearly not the case. Black women are our biggest ally.
The gay black women running BLM don't give a flying fukk about heterosexual black men. Stop with the general bullshyt points.

Those hoes representing BLM don't even represent the typical black female.
