But what does cap space get you when nobody of note wants to sign here. You end up having to trade for talent, but the FO hasn't made a good trade in years (they still got worked on the Kawhi situation even with how everything turned out).

As for Demar and the young guys, I don't think he's the one holding up the development. Even when he's not out there, guys (other than Murray) are still scared to make a mistake. They pass up open shots or play tentative on offense because they know Pop will bench em with the quickness. On the bench, Patty and Rudy are eating up most of the shots, so that's a different issue. Pop needs to let Luka get real reps and get himself ejected a few times so the players can play with a little more freedom.
Money is money.

I don't put too much faith into this idea that nobody wants to play in San Antonio.
Here's the thing...shoot your shot. I want to know who are all these free agents that the Spurs targeted and failed at?

The Knicks are FAR more known for seeking big time FAs and failing. San Antonio has rarely gone after high profile FAs in the last 20 years. And probably the 1 time they did so, they got LMA.
San Antonio clearly isn't as attractive as Miami or LA. But at the same time, it's not like the top markets have all this money to spend either.

I have to believe that very few guys are gonna turn down 25 million in San Antonio to take 15 in LA. But let's see.

Edit - I can see an argument that Kawhi bypassed a lot of money in San Antonio and wound up in LA. But I would argue strongly that it had FAR, FAR more to do with Uncle Dennis wanting to insert himself as a power figure within the organization than any actual rift between Kawhi and the team/management/city.

Yeah the Kawhi situation was an exception. We know there were issues behind the scenes. As for the bold, that is a problem though. Spurs will have to overpay someone, because if money is equal, they aren't getting the FA (even Aldridge had the caveat of him being from Texas (going to school in Austin)). At this rate, I halfway expect them to re-sign DeRozan and bring in Lowry just to do another solid for one of our players (since that's our MO apparently). :russ:

Im thankful for what Rudy, Demar, and Patty has brought but im just resdy to move on from them. I just dont see much clarity in the roles of Lonnie, Derrick, and Dejaunte as far as going forward.

Luka needs more minutes too

What the fukk are we doing ?

We are down 20 to the Jazz and Rudy Gay is still on the court?

Honestly what the fukk is this shyt? How hard is it to start these young kids and give them free reign to be creative and get some volume shooting.

The season is almost over. I don’t care to see Derozan and Gay with all this usage and minutes.

They are not the future.
