Bandai Namco Doesn’t Want Players to Eat Akuma’s Fireballs in Tekken 7 Fated Retribution
Tekken 7 Fated Retribution is looking pretty promising so far. In addition to visual and gameplay upgrades, Street Fighter’s Akuma will be making a high-profile cameo in the playable cast with an arsenal of fireballs behind him.
Because he’s drastically different than the rest of the Tekken cast, Bandai Namco Entertainment recently put together a quick guide showing players the various ways in which they can deal with Akuma’s projectiles. In general, there are three options: sidestepping, jumping, or countering with character-specific attacks.

Though there have always been non-projectle characters in street fighter and a projectile boss has been in Tekken ...that side step is damning

...that said I'm a gameplay mechanics fiend
if the end result is a useless mechanic then it should be pointed out and addressed.

i can see why someone would say that.
...that said, I stand by my position
it's Tekken did you think they were going to be a huge part of the game or something
