You will be fine, once you pretty much master any fighting game whether it be a boxing sim or fighter. You pretty much know the basics of what needs to be done to fight your style. I am in and out. I like to throw hadukens to keep people away. I will be rated an offensive fighter completely.

I played a defensive zangief player and knew he was dead. He was trying to wait for people to attack and then quickly grab. It doesn't work if you go in with an air attack and then quickly jab on the ground. Air kick, 2 jabs on the ground and quickly back out. I almost had a perfect on the dude because he couldn't catch me.

Your first sentiments makes almost too much sense coming from you, lol. The 2nd tho...not if the Gief is skillful enough. I mean, you partially right, but definitely are't 100% on that shyt.

Zangief seems to slow to be able to pull that off consistently. I just played a decent Ryu player and he was able to grab before I got my jab off. But jumping away he couldn't grab me once after he got up

Played a few games before class this morning. Glad the server issues seem to be fixed. The gameplay itself is amazing though and the game looks amazing graphically. Coming from 4 though, its an adjustment for me. Got to get used to the new timing and speed of the game.
I feel the same way. Gonna be a long adjustment and for multiple characters as well.

I hate sticks

So do I. I find it much more comfortable to have the controller fully in your hands, rather than sitting it on a desk, table tray, lap, etc. like you need to do with sticks. Also, much more convenient and comfortable pressing all the buttings with just my thumb rather than using all my fingers.

Yeah, I'm just now getting used to the timing with ryu. Im starting to get the timing of using the v-trigger mid combo. The couple times I did the full combo it knocked off 50% of the opponents health :whoo:

Supposed to thru authenticating them, but considering how the servers are all janky right now, I can't say if it's working optimally or at all right now. I don't have PS3 sticks to try out.

I tried that it works. And...

Everyone be thinking that sticks are the end all, be all way to go with fighters. They couldn't be anymore wrong tho. Sticks ain't for everybody.

I'm thinking of bushing mine right now. Tried playing with the fight stick I have, I felt slower than usual and had problems pulling off moves that I had no problem with on a regular controller.

And on Tekken where I'm above casual skill I was the same on controller and fightstick. :martin:

Although sticks aren't for everyone going from a pad to a stick you're gonna suck for the first couple weeks. My first stick was with SF4 on the 360 and I was hot garbage at first. After two weeks or so I was better at SF than I ever was using a pad.

I couldn't go back to a pad again. I have a lot more dexterity using a stick.

Nah, I've been on stick on street fighter games since my 360, just trying to break this one in, and its been a while

I need one for these type of game because I have a handicap on the right side of the screen with controllers that I don't have with sticks

But I can't play MK on a stick at all
