Probably because most people expect to be able to pick their character right before the match starts like every other fighting game on the planet. By default the game forces you to pick your character before going into the lounge unless someone changes the default to allow for character select. Ryu is the default character.

Nah, I've been on stick on street fighter games since my 360, just trying to break this one in, and its been a while

I need one for these type of game because I have a handicap on the right side of the screen with controllers that I don't have with sticks

But I can't play MK on a stick at all

Yea that's how I feel. I can play MK on a controller since it's mainly mashing out combo inputs as fast as possible. With the motion controls and timing being a major factor in SF, I cannot be effective with a controller or pad at all, esp using a shooto character. I need that functional, precise joystick and buttons fully spaced out for use on the same layout

Yeah I understand they chose to do this to save time, but dammit they need to do a better job emphasizing this point. Character selection is essential on Round Robin sets when you wanna switch up characters.
