I honestly can't even see Chance being popular at all. I don't see one marketable aspect of him aside from his god given freestyle ability. He makes really shytty songs, he's funny lookin', his voice irritates and he's not as edgy as Ab Soul, Schoolboy Q or Danny Brown on the drug tip.

White people bruh :ehh: :manny:. With proper management he could easily shark Kendrick Lamar's white crowd and put up Gold albums easily. He is actually very "safe" and "marketable"

The only people that use the term industry plant are douchebags who think they are cool for liking something other people don't recognize yet.

If you are signed, you put in your work. PERIOD. Ya'll act like they grow these dudes in a lab or some shyt and the first time they ever spit a bar is on youtube. All these dude ya'll claim as plants put in work before blowing up online.

This is what's wrong with Hip Hop today, business-wise.

These bloggers and sites throwing out these fake numbers on how much cats signed for and all that, giving the impression that they're being paid this money. Don Cannon spoke on this recently. It's common knowledge, but he said these amounts are not what cats are getting, it's what labels promise to invest in you over a certain amount of years. Which means, "we'll pay this amount for your travel, recording, promotion, marketing, styling, production, media training, etc. over the next 4-5 years".

What's not being noted, is that this is a loan. You have to recoup all of that back within that term, just to break even! And if you're in a 360, which is what all these dudes sign into these days, you're in even more debt, because they're takin' half of your own profits from you, just for signing you.

I don't even like his music, but cats Like Mac Miller are winnin', because they've taken their careers into their own hands. He's paying for distribution, and seein' all the rest of the bread for himself! Cats need to leave these labels alone, if they can't get decent deals out of them.
