Strictly player wise can prime AD reach Duncan/KG/Dirk/Malone level?

You can't say "ignore titles" and then compare him to a dude who won 5 titles...

Everybody not named Duncan on that list he might could be...to get int he Tim Duncan category he going to need a minimum of 3 rings and right now he sitting at 0 rings...
He doesn't have the coach or team to compare. Unless he falls off a cliff his individual production will be comparable.

Here's already on their level. He just doesn't have the coach and supporting cast Duncan had. It's really that simple. It's why the rings argument is so flawed.

Just Saying "5 rings" without context is useless tho,

AD in 2018 is better than Duncan was in 2014, 2007 imo (just as good as some of Tim's other years besides 2003) , you need a great squad and luck to win. I think comparing him just as a player to them its really close.

Pop wasn't Pop when Timmy got drafted. Pop was a young coach who some say was one game away from being fired...

And the team was built around Timmy. The team didn't make Tim Duncan better...Tim Duncan made the team better...

There is no argument to be had between Tim Duncan and AD...Timmy is so far ahead of him in virtually every basketball category outside of just per game numbers...and it's hard to compare per game numbers between a guy who played 19 seasons and a guy who has played 6...

Individual production is fine if you want to compare him to players with 1 or no rings like KG and Barkley and Karl and Dirk...but when you start trying to compare him to guys who have won 5 rings and MVP's and finals MVP's...shyt gets ridiculous...

Tim Duncan was the best player on teams that one titles across two different decades...AD aint never been the best player on a team who could make it out the first round...who about we wait for that...shouldn't take long...probably the middle of next week...

Nikka fukk rings

Duncan played on the Spurs. He came into a team with a winning culture, played under the greatest coach his entire career, had a strong supporting cast for most of his titles.

KG may not rank higher than Duncan on an All-Time list but to me he is the greatest PF of All-Time, is it his fault he spent his youth and prime years in Minnesota?

Every star player has a team built around them, some organizations do it better than others. Pop "wasn't Pop" but had the 97 lottery went another way Duncan could be in the same position. It's not a clear cut as a Jordan situatiom where he was tearing the league but didn't have the team culture, Duncan has never been without Pop so whatever success you credit Tim for, Pop has to get the same credit. You don't compare 6 years to 19 years, this is why the argument is about the player's prime, which AD is entering, not his total career. You're bringing up accolades that takes team achievement, including 2 rings for which Duncan wasn't even the best player. As an individual player AD has entered that realm he just has to keep it up. It's not his fault New Orleans can't build.

Was watching Game 1 the other night and it's scary how much he remind of prime KG during the Minnesota days (but a lot better defensively IMO).

In terms of ability/individual game, I'd argue he's already on par, if not exceeded Duncan/KG/Malone/Dirk
I want to hear the argument of how he's "a lot" better defensively than Minnesota Garnett was. :usure:

I’m not even getting into the rings debate because I think that’s a bit out of 1 player’s control.

But Timmy came into a winning culture?
:gucci:

Timmy got to the Spurs because they sucked (with D-Rob being hurt)
The Spurs winning culture at the time consisted of getting embarrassed by the Rockets for years.
:gucci:

I don’t even wanna think about that 95 playoffs with Dream going for fukkin 40 pts and shyt.

Timmy was the one who helped to change all that.
And Pop was in his first full season in Timmy’s rookie year. (He went 17-47 the prior year)

Team literally never won a title until he got there...so your culture of winning can only be so great if you have never won a title...that is like saying the memphis grizzlies built a culture of winning cause they went to the playoffs like 8 years in a row or that the portland traiblazers have a culture of winning cause they have done the same...

If you got KG above Duncan and you think it only comes down to who duncan coach was and the team duncan played for then I can't even begin to describe how wrong you are...

:yeshrug: Unbias opinion(kg my favorite player of all time) I would he is better at every part of the game outside of post play, rebounding and ability to coordinate a defense

He’s a better scorer than kg, faster, bigger, more strength, more of a high flyer, better shooter(more range), better at man to man defense, better shoot blocker, Can dribble better

Kg my guy but ad is him on steroids
