Tokyo Sports is reporting that Shinsuke Nakamura is indeed leaving NJPW for WWE following an interview that they have conducted with him. They also made it known that his contract with New Japan is officially up at the end of January.

Nakamura stated that he is goal to challenge the "world's largest wrestling promotion, WWE." Following his defense against AJ Styles on 1/4 at the Tokyo Dome, Nakamura stated that his next challenge was for the "world", and that lead to the following day when these rumors of New Japan talent leaving the promotion began to spread across many outlets.

Now the question remains on if and when Nakamura will defend the IWGP IC belt before he leaves? Following the Dome Show with the "NEW YEAR DASH!!" show on 1/5, Kenny Omega beat Nakamura and then asserted himself as the next challenger and to no longer being a junior wrestler in New Japan. He called out Nakamura for a title match following the win, but at this time nothing has been made official on when, or even if, a defense will happen. Nakamura does pride himself on defending the IC belt though, as that has been seen on many occasions in the past.

New Japan has not announced any events cards/matches for the next tour that follows the upcoming NJPW/CMLL "FANTASTICA MANIA" shows, "Road to the NEW BEGINNING".

It's not that they're fresh. Don't forget the NWO existed in NJPW back then as well and produced some of their biggest angles :heh: It's that the Bullet Club is a giant take on western wrestling itself. They're pretty much a caricature of American wrestling culture from the Attitude Era on. It's as much satire as it's played straight. As much as they get boo'd the comedic shyt goes over well, too. BC is basically a joke that everyone is in one and still enjoys because some of them can really deliver in the ring, and when it's mattered the booking as taken them seriously.

But yeah the Bucks really gave everyone the style that really caught on. They were doing that themselves heavy before they got to NJ when the BC was still pretty low key about it
As much as some puro fans hate them BC is what got me into Njpw . And then made me be like who's this okada , swagsuke , Suzuki etc ( not shibata sorry never shibata ) they have had a big hand in increasing the scope of njpw

So Nakamura will be there in time for Mania. They could actually get away with a Bryan returning at the Rumble surprise & losing without it killing everything afterwards if they had him & Nakamura at Mania to follow it up.

New Japan actually planted the seeds in Bischoff's head for the creation of what came to be the nWo. And nWo Japan was the shyt. Had some great times over there thanks to Scott Norton. Have a new found appreciation for sake after my trips there with him. Unfortunately couldn't get him to appreciate Red Wine in the same manner I do.

Pretty sure he's getting trained up at the moment, but it's pretty much an inevitability.

Cody's only 24 and has the size Vince likes. The best training he's got has been from his father. Anyone can go through training as a pro wrestler, but to have someone close to him teach him how to be charismatic and how not to spend your time outside the ring is equally as valuable. If he doesn't go down Scott's path in regards to substance abuse, he's destined to be a Main Event star in the WWE whenever he makes the jump. The world could have had Outsiders 2.0 if my son decided not to be a failed musician hippie that tries to abuse his old man.

WWE, as of late, has put out boring storylines that have only gotten a bit better since the fans have finally accepted Reigns, and took the belt off of Sheamus. Especially since WWE's major players such as Rollins, Bryan, Sting, and Cena won't be at this year's Mania, a "Balor Club" invasion of Raw will spark massively positive ratings. Instead of Bad Luck Fale, replace him with Samoa Joe after an NXT title reign, and then we will have a golden storyline.

Shinsuke Nakamura Confirms WWE Deal

Shinsuke Nakamura has confirmed he is heading to WWE.

Japan’s Tokyo Sports published the news, in which Nakamura revealed he will be leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling later in January. The talented grappler said that he wanted new challenges and was hoping to hit new heights on WWE’s platform.

This revelation was expected, but it is still exciting to finally get official word and a time frame. Nakamura has legitimately been one of the best pro wrestlers in the world, and fans will be hoping he gets the opportunity to show his full skill when competing with WWE.

Having just launched WWE Network in Japan, the signing does make sense for the industry leader. Whether it makes sense for Nakamura, only time will tell. KENTA was a huge star in Japan, only to be hidden away on NXT as Hideo Itami. Even before his injury, his career had faltered. Nakamura will have to show far more charisma than Itami and adapt to WWE’s ring style, otherwise he’ll suffer the same bland run.

Other New Japan stars are expected to be confirmed for WWE soon. AJ Styles has cleared out all his bookings, while Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson are also thought to be coming in.
