The poster said without stringer there is no ghost.
I refuted that ghost characters existed far before both characters.
All these character are "loosely" based on real characters.
Courtney Kemp said that ghost was based off her own father, not stringer bell...stringer bell is closely based off real people,
The detective that helped write 'the wire" based the show off his years working as detective and meeting certain people.
So ghost could have definitely existed without stringer

String was nowhere near as powerful or as capable as Ghost.
The Wire is the clearly better show and String is clearly the better written character but as far as the OP is questioning, Ghost reach went all the way to the cartels. String couldn’t get out of his own side of Bmore. Ghost would’ve killed String himself and been outta there before Bodi was on the couch in the morning.
