I don't necessarily agree. I mean some progress is being made in respect to incarceration and black on black crime. Guns are being taken off the streets and being harder to obtain.
The big problem America has is greed. These private prisons make a lot of money, and they employ people. These prisons should focus more on rehabilitation. There should be laws in place that make it so that you're still treated fairly after you've left prison. People need to remember that sometimes innocent people go to prison, and rehabilitation is more useful than just straight up punishment.
I think if incarceration rates were down then the black population would grow substantially and so would the black middle class. It blows my mind that there are people who don't want to see how black people having money, jobs, and starting new businesses and thus employing more people is good for the country. There is a fear of the blackman in America that needs to be purged. I think deep down a lot of white people assume that once black people get power we will be as evil, oppressive, and unspeakably vicious and cruel to them as they were to us.
They're afraid we're going to retaliate from all their demonic wrongdoings against us.

I truly do fear for the future of Black America. Everything is pointing in the wrong direction. I think about this stuff all the time and I don't even know where to begin to solve these problems. I have ideas that range from simple education reform to massive, societal changes like consolidating our population to a single state or group of states in close proximity....but it all seems so impossible.
We lost a long time ago, and the past century has just been everyone else twisting the knife. We need a fukking "historical mulligan" at this point.
Some individuals will continue to eat as always, but as a group, we're fukked....

Remember that book that came out a year or so ago that said that there are more black men in prison right now than there were enslaved in 1860.

And when you expand that thought with the idea that prisons are wholesale subdivisions of the manufacturing sector, with prison "labor" producing all kinds of material for fractions of pennies on the dollar, and in collaboration poor performing black kids as young as nine are tracked w/ the idea of projecting future incarceration rates --- a clear picture emerges.
So why did you do it when you was younger?.
If you would have gotten caught, you would be in the same statistic.

Nahhh but srsly tho we have to look out for our brothers and keep them outside of prison and from a criminal record. I personally have too many male cousins with criminal records due to being raised in a culture of single mothers. Even some of the ones with dads ain't really laced with the game. They religion as an excuse to not know game but it never works and the children get caught up into stupid shyt.

your prison system is so insane its insane. last year a dude here got caught with half a kilo TWICE in a year and got 2 years on probation lol

it's not just the war on drugsWar on Drugs is the main cause of this mess. And no one seems to really give a fukk. I mean, we all care, but year by year nothing changes
People don't even question the war on drugs anymore because that's all most people have known.
not to mention we've now made hundreds of thousands of jobs based around the war on drugs. The machine is in motion and it's going to be hard to stop it.

in terms of production, or tangible/beneficial impact IMHO this is probably the best move at this point. Which is shytty to say that SEPARATION may be the most pragmatic way to turn the direction of the AA community in america around.I truly do fear for the future of Black America. Granted, there's an entire road full of roadblocks and turns into the wrong direction that riddle this solution but I don't see anything changing the current status quo enough to alter the current direction.
Even if they do legalize and grant amnesty to all the non violent offenders in prison the damage is done. YEARS and GENERATIONS of these policies are in place. Broken family, broken neghborhoods, broken cities, broken education, misguided children having children that in turn end up more misguided than their parents.... Injecting thousands of inmates with no skills into the current situation WOULD NOT HELP. You'd literally need to set up a..."reservation" type of place and or rebuild entire areas....which IMHO would face now the same BS places like Pruitt-Igoe faced in the 50-60's.
THe more i think on it the less A plausible solution is even tenable...
