“The study was published in Psychological Science. Previous research has consistently found that when it comes to gauging a partner's sexual interest, men and women display different biases. Men tend to overestimate women's sexual interest, while women underestimate men's sexual interest.”

Somebody lying. The popular male internet narrative is that women have an overinflated sense of attractiveness which is why they won’t choose up on the men on their levels.

But several studies actually say the exact opposite.
I dunno. I’m on the fence with this one. I’ve definitely seen these dynamics at work irl, but I know shy dudes and aggressive chicks too.

Then again, I just read a thread on unsolicited dikk pics:deadmanny::pachaha:

Regardless, differences between men and women became negligible when accounting for individual desires for casual sex or tendency to project their attraction onto others. It just so happens that men were found to be more likely to do this than women.

Sooo which is it?

Men: *Achoo*
woman: Bless you
Men: She tryna fukk :ohhh:
:russ:But to be fair, I think it’s just an evolutionary way to encourage men to shoot their shots.

And its not just men who do it. Basically if you horny and delusional enough to project your desire onto others, you do it too. So women do this as well just not to the same extent as men because of their higher sex drives maybe...

Whatever makes you feel better about yourself :mjlol:

There wouldn’t be a whole “incel” movement of men who just assume women don’t find them attractive so they don’t even bother talking to them if this were true.

A study of 1200 people mostly women? :francis:

It’s a known fact men tend to be oblivious to choosing signs while just simply asking a woman “how are you” is often mistaken as trying to get some

Most arrogant men are men who actually get women. A lot of women who think they fine think so because they have inboxes full of dudes who only hit her up because he thought she was too unattractive to say no :unimpressed:

The study must be talking about high value men.

yeah, elite level men (especially black men) are arrogant as fukk and most women get insecure when they get in the presence of a high level man.

So yeah, the study makes perfect sense.
Hmmm I dunno if it distinguishes between high or low value men....by what metric are we measuring high or low value....

Cites anecdote as "known fact"

They said results were consistent with findings from several other studies. Meaning they keep finding the same pattern across multiple studies with different populations.

Typically replication of effect across different participants is a strong indicator of some truth. It’s just not telling us the motivations.

Nah you’ve just misunderstood the narrative.

Women being insecure is a central tenant to that narrative. Their overinflated sense of attractiveness has more to do with them not realizing that just cuz a dude wants to fukk it doesn’t mean they’re overly smitten with them. It sounds like conflicting statements but it is really just nuance.
