But humans are way too complex to just leave people who are cheating on them. if it were that easy, we all wouldn't be talking about every damn day here. People really want to believe that we all can change a behavior for the better. But changing gratifying behaviors is a difficult and long process. The problem is, these women (or men) who stay want to believe that person will change and the longer they stay the harder they realize it just isn't going to happen. And really who wants to lose faith in a person they loved?

it's still valuable. We need studies that give us numbers to back up our ideas and experiences. Without numbers our ideas are just that and don't mean too much for future growth in that field (clinical psychology).
