This makes sense to rap fans.

Joey Badass - "my man's sold more records than Troy Ave."
Troy Ave - "Capital Steez committed suicide he burning in hell. (Then proceeds to go on a rant on the radio about it continuously dissing a dead kid and other suicide victims).."

That's the type of shyt that makes sense to u nikkas?

Makes me embarrassed to be a rap fan and to have these types of fukkboys in our culture.

I definitely do not think the architects of Hip-Hop culture would find this shyt ok.

He didn't have to say it off wax,but its just weird people are mad at him for saying it off wax don't you agree? How can you be mad at one and not the other?People who say horrible things on wax get the benefit of the doubt that maybe they didn't mean it,just because it was said on wax?

People are condoning violence against Troy because of the fact he said it off wax,but apparently had he kept it on wax, violence would've been out of bounds in some peoples minds, and not hiphop on joeys part:whoa:

We've heard people threaten to kill familys, rape family, diss peoples dead mothers and fathers for godsake, cats stayed shyttin on 50's dead mama and we was ":krs:" about the whole thing.

Maybe I feel different because I've always had the thinking,if you say a line on wax your already owning it,and are prepared to deal with any consequences that come with crossing that line. So to me,Troy dissing Steez off wax is no different then him dissing him on wax.

This "You can say whatever on wax, just not off wax" talk that's going on in here is confusing the shyt out of me:mindblown:...You can say whatever you want on wax or off at your own risk, long as Troy owns that risk and don't go crying later god forbid I see no problem:sas2:.

Because as weird as it sounds people accept art. They don't accept people just talking stupid.

Granted, nobody has to accept either. And rap lines have obviously gotten people fukked up.

But this specific situation....if you diss his dead homeboy in a song....people can chalk that up to some rap shyt. As foul as it is.

But when you recap the same point in an interview, it's different. It just is. I'm not saying it makes sense....but the two aren't accepted the same.

Look at the Cam situation vs Star. Cam said he'd R Kelly Nas daughter's face. Sure people had a problem with it....but rap fans were mostly :manny:

Now look at Star saying the same thing in an interview, about Envy's daughter. That shyt was denounced across the board, and he got fired.

Same exact point, different medium, different outcome.

I fcuks with Styles P, but I can't support his opinion on this matter...There is NO LINE in disrespect...ANYTHING goes...Any weakness should be exploited...

I mean, where do we draw the line? 2Pac (my favorite rapper of all time) called out Prodigy (my second favorite rapper of all time) about his sickle cell anemia...

We all laughed...

But sickle cell anemia IS NOT A JOKE...You don't choose to be born with that shiet, and it is PAINFUL..Real physical pain and not some "I hate my life and I want to die" bullshiet...

People who commit suicide CHOSE to do so...Don't get me wrong, I worked in Mental Health Facility, so I don't take suicide lightly...But I also have friends with sickle cell anemia, and I see their pain...

Basically, if we jump on Troy Ave for going HARD on an OPP, then we should just BAN dissing in Hip Hop, because there is always something that is "not a joke" for somebody else...

What's the point of dissing if you are not going to be DISRESPECTFUL to your OPP...?
as messed up as it is, we draw the line based on who we like vs who we don't like. people just don't like Troy Ave. heck, i don't like him either. if it was someone like Schoolboy Q who had said the same shyt, people would still not like it but at the same time people would let it slide because he's not "disliked" by most. and it goes over even better if it's some "liked" who happens to be tremendously skilled. this is why Pac got passes. why Camron didn't really get hate for the shyt he said about Nas' mom.

as hypocritical as it is, this is how the line is drawn. it's about how much people enjoy your vibe/persona/energy and how much you bring to the game VS the harshness of what you did/said. Troy is just one of those universally disliked people in the rap industry. as crazy and petty as 50 was in his apex, you could argue he did it with some type of style/charm for lack of a better word (pause).

This is really all it is,I'm pretty sure Star fans didn't care about Envys feelings being hurt....Problem is Troy doesn't really have any fans that really fukk with him enough to counter the large amount of people who passionately don't like him:pachaha:...If somebody elsle would've said these bars who we don't hate the diss would be called a throwback to the good ol days of ruthless aggression:banderas:

Or maybe that's just me being in denial that we are officially in the PC era,and this would've been the reaction to anybody who said these lyrics:mjcry:...Im hoping Troy Ave hate is just leading to hypocritical reactions.

Again. Why do people keep bringing up faceless Styles P lyrics. Not the same. And he's not talking about the Troy Ave song. He's talkin about the interview.
I love styles
I just happened to hear this song not long before I saw this thread

I love the lox and support them almost daily in juices for life !

Yeah definitely. Troy Ave isn't well liked enough either, on top of everything else.

This is very on point...the problem with the line is that Troy has no charisma...as hard as he tries he always manages to show just how hard he is trying ...not good.

He made a song called she belongs to the game...his voice cracks all over the track like a adolescent in puberty...the content is lame(like does anyone look at Troy as the guy who has the "wise words" for brehs dealings wit hoes:stopitslime:)...he should have stuck to his bringing ny sound back and kept it hip hop...he veered into this wanna be biggie thing that will never work. Guess cuz he's fat and dark skin...i dunno:manny:
