Man, this Intangibles argument is frustrating.
On one hand, I completely understand it, and identify with wanting politicians to offer some real collateral for our vote. Its far too easy for politicians to offer promise of meaningful change in matters of race, but then never actually do anything. At some point, somebody's gotta make sure that bill gets paid when it comes due.
But in the other hand, the idea of completely withholding the vote really only works in a vacuum. While we're busy not voting, the worst of the republican side of things is actively pandering to their racist base, and getting them to vote as much as they can.
The real answer here is that the two party system has exhausted its usefulness. But much like anything in politics, getting from point A to point B isn't going to happen anywhere close to quickly.
