No, I'm not Sudanese. I ask because if you were from the capital I was going to ask you how modern is it?

I have relatives and friends who been there, from what i heard to a certain degree it is, in comparison to other areas of the country. I heard they are looking into tourism mainly in the historic areas, but there still needs improvements especially with the poor. . Khartoum has many restrauants, some shopping malls and traditional souks, and music venues ranging from reggae, R &B, rap, rock, sudani music, Egyptian music, Ethiopian music, and some Nigerian artist is becoming popular, There are raves and techo parties. Westerners like to compare Khartoum to Cairo, for some reasons, because both cities are very different, as i noticed. Then again i have not been back to Sudan for a while now, and i heard in Khartoum there is many changes. At the same time many young educated people leave to the Gulf due to the economic situation, because there is not enough jobs.
