and like I said Dre wasn't exactly proven solo talent when Suge made the move to get him from Eazy..

and like I said Dre wasn't exactly proven solo talent when Suge made the move to get him from Eazy..

You say of course he signed 2pac as if he didn't have to be somebody Pac wanted to work for,and as if he didn't have to build up Deathrow to become a place where signing 2pac would even be an option...I aint tryna give SUge all the credit but I have a problem with people giving him none of the credit....and lets not pretend signing people would be easy for Suge after coming home from jail after several years, when the public and the media has all but assumed you killed Pac and Biggie, cant forget Eazy got thrown in later for kicks
...only desperate people would sign to Suge,he might not be Larry Brown but Phil Jackson aint no slouch...and like I said Dre wasn't exactly proven solo talent when Suge made the move to get him from Eazy..
Snoop and Eminem were unproven before Dre started working with them. Dre put out Snoop, Eminem, Game, and Kendrick Lamar before they were platinum selling or household names. Suge on the other hand has no ear for musical talent. Of course he's gonna sign Tupac. Pac was platinum selling artist and a movie start. But what other smart moves did Suge make? Signing MC Hammer after his star had died down? Putting out a bootleg Chronic 2000 with a Snoop imitator, Pac imitator, and even a wannabe Lady of Rage?
Suge lost his company and never recovered. Dr. Dre lost his company, left with zero money and recovered better than ever.
Ya'll creative nikkas better get on your jobs and create a Hip-Hop Boardwalk Empire Show. Suge, Diddy, J Prince, Henchman, Haitian Jack, Wolf, etc. And that's before you even get to the artists.
.
You gotta give Suge credit for executing the business moves. Dre on his own wouldn't have accomplished what they accomplished together. Dre is a musical genius and knows how to groom talent, but he is not a very astute business man. That's why he has always needed a business partner. Alonzo, Eazy, Suge and now Jimmy.
Alonzo, Eazy and Suge, just got too greedy and didn't take care of the engine behind their companies. Jimmy knew what he had and stayed close to Dre.
But 2pac didn't want to work for Suge intially. Suge wanted 'Pac to sign to Deathrow around 93/94 but 'Pac declined the offer. Why sign to something that's almost like a subsidiary of Interscope when you're already signed to Interscope? Why have two record labels in your pocket when you currently only have one? He only signed to Deathrow, and agreed to have Deathrow's attorney David Kenner represent him (which was a total conflict of interest) because he was desperate to get out of prison.
I think most rational thinking people don't believe he had 'Pac killed. He was in the same car as 2pac and in the line of fire when 2pac got shot. But even if that is part of the general consensus, that's Suge's own doing. Suge chose to treat his company like the mafia. Getting you're #1 artist involved in a Compton gang war is not a smart business decision. Harassing Hip-Hop's #1 producer for the remainder of your life is not a smart business decision. Flaunting your gang connections and making it well known your involved in crime is not a smart business decision (being connected to gangs in general is not smart).
I do give him credit for the business moves he made that were smart. He hired that dude George Pryce as a promoter, who helped distinguish the image of Deathrow artists from that of common west coast gangsta rappers at the time. He's the one who got the Above the Rim soundtrack together. And much more, but it's just that the stupid shyt he did stands out so much.
....that was another famous CEO who got Pac involved in a gang war,Puffy Combs...And Suge aint the one who told that #1 artist to rush Orlando in the casino
...Suge being a boss could've easily worked that out behind the scenes, that shyt wouldn't have went down, but Pac was hotheaded

...If Suge never signs Pac I predict his label last another 10 years at least,easy...the people he had fun pissing off on the way up just made it impossible for him to rebuild, who gon sign with the man who pissed off the people who became the most powerful men in hiphop after Suge went to jail
?But Dre was the producer. He was the sound behind multiple classic albums. Anyone in their right mind would have wanted Dre after that run culminating in the second NWA album.Whats the question?Dre was the 4th favorite rapper of most NWA fans, then became Eazy E sidekick.....who was licking they chops to hear a dre solo album before Suge stole him from Eazy?

Idc how much pull he used to have all I remember him by is![]()

you had an incredible runBut Dre was the producer. He was the sound behind multiple classic albums. Anyone in their right mind would have wanted Dre after that run culminating in the second NWA album.
If you're point is that people weren't fiending to hear Dre as a rapper
That's why the Chronic is a compilation basically. But Dre was a sought after commodity post NWA - how could he not be![]()
breh i was justI can't believe that some of yall are still on that "Suge killed Pac" shyt. Why would you sit next to someone that you know is about to get lit up?
ing. i gives a fukk if it really was him or notBut Dre was the producer. He was the sound behind multiple classic albums. Anyone in their right mind would have wanted Dre after that run culminating in the second NWA album.

...comparing him to Pac as a sure thing like some people have though
? superstars like Eazy E and Cube don't come around everyday, and Dre was built like them to be on that level....it turned out he had a eye for talent though,so you either gotta give SUge credit for seeing that, having faith Dre could carry his own as a solo artist,or that he picked up an important piece for his label which was a producer....you don't make that aggressive move they did on Eazy if you don't see Dre as an important piece to the foundation of your label
,as well as Cube know how to create em....basically Im just making sure we clear his sound was just one part of those NWA albums
...I see you @Robbie3000
