North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Thank you OP

People who commit suicide are absolute cowards

actually, it takes balls to kill yourself.

you’re committing to something you can’t take back. You’re literally going all in.

Hanging yourself takes more guts because you’re literally witnesses the end.

-As long as they're not taking innocent people with them, let them die. It's selfish to think they need to stay because you feel some kind of way about their choice.

Just thinking about that Atlanta CEO thread and Regina King’s son. I haven’t posted in the latter but I keep seeing posts about it and it’s like damn: You know who your mom is and you just put her on a world stage of hurt and embarrassment. Wtf is she or your pops supposed to do with that? He literally had access to the best resources this world could offer but it’s really not about him. I just feel an anger rising when I see something like that. All you’re doing is transferring your hurt onto people that are more than likely already trying, or willing to do whatever it takes to help you. I’ve seen some questionable posts on here and I’m sure there’s been a ton more so Imma just say it: If you’re thinking that way, you better get off that fukk shyt :pacspit: for real.
People like you simply don’t understand what depression is. Depression is a form of pain. Think of someone who has 3rd degree burns all over their body who just wants the pain to stop. Why do you think depressed people often die from horrible deaths like jumping off of bridges into ice cold waters or throwing themselves in front of trains? The same reason people threw themselves from the towers during 9/11. The pain they were experiencing was to much to bare.

It’s selfish to tell someone who is dealing with depression that they’re selfish for deciding to end it. Just be grateful you don’t have to experience anything like it.

Depression has nothing to do with “life’s problems” Depression is a disease of the brain. People from all walks of life commit suicide.

Why the leap that everyone who Commits Suicide = Depression? Don't bring in another conversation to defend Cowards

SOHH ICEY MONOPOLY
IMO its only seflish if u have kids, especially young ones.

otherwise ppl should be allowed to do whatever they want to do. Especially since they were literally put in a situation (existence) without their signed consent

So if anything, placing the BURDEN OF EXISTENCE on someone's shoulders without asking them if it is okay to do is so first = The REAL Selfish act

Coli parents ain't ready for that one though

Bro respectfully you're a very intelligent person and all that but how exactly do you ask somebody's consent who doesn't exist. Just saying let me know so I don't get MeTooed by Jessica Rabbit and some other bad cartoon broads from when I was a kid :francis:

This topic always seems to compell folks to give their uninformed, uneducated, inept opinions.

When people speak on suicide, many seem unable to view it from a perspective beyond their own. Actually having bonded with depressed and suicidal individuals, you will often find that they consider the act selfless. From their perspective, they feel like such a worthless burden to their loved ones that them ceasing to exist would be a positive for those that care about them, even if those loved ones can't see it in the moment. I know that sounds warped, but it makes sense considering the source.

Nobody is this thread said “everyone who commits suicide=depression” There’s a strong correlation between suicide and depression. I think you should know this. In fact, that’s how I would define depression: the loss of the inherit will to live.

Even at my darkest moments, I never considered suicide. When I was broke and penniless, suffering from a shattered heart, or at a loss for my purpose in this world, not once did the possibility of ending my life cross my thoughts.

I’ll never understand the mindset that drives a person to kill themselves, and I hope I never do.

:francis:
This is where depression is defined. Even in your darkest hour, you didn’t think of commiting suicide because you had the one thing people experiencing depression don’t have: the inherit will to live. Just like we have genes that when turned on/off can determine characteristics like eye color, hair color, height etc. It’s like people who experience depression have that inherit will to live encoded in their DNA turned off for some reason.

In some cases the person might have tried to seek help but those same family, siblings and friends didn't hear them out. Didn't care until after the permanent decision was made. While in some cases the person just can't be saved regardless of their support system. Every situation is different.

The point is you never know what someone is going through, can't call them weak or pathetic unless you can walk in their shoes. Sure there's possibilities things can get better, but they could also get worse too. shyt, maybe that's the breaking point that makes them call it quits :francis:

I'm not cool with the act but it would be crazy for me to say they should tough it out. Not everyone is built the same and I'm in no place to judge.
This is very true. Depression often manifests itself as laziness or procrastination. Instead of reaching out to these people, society will label them “failures” which in turn further worsens their mental state.

Look at how people made jokes about Chadwick bosemans appearance only to find out AFTER he died that he was dealing with cancer.

if anything, people who commit suicide are being unselfish, because most of them think they're being a burden on others. :manny:
:hhh:aint it selfish to think you matter more than the damn person who killed themselves
it's incredibly selfish to think "you shouldn't kill yourself because of how it will make me feel"
