Yall brehs trippin.

This situation had more to do with him than anything else.

He was no where near the first Black person to deal with an environment full of non-Blacks.

Yall must forget a few decades ago, little black boys and girls integrated in all white places and had to deal with a lot of BS ---- at 6-12 years old.

And they weren't getting paid 170K to do it.

If they could deal with racism, this breh could have.

Like I said before, he was suicidal before he even took the job.

This was just the straw that broke the camels back.

That's why I'm glad i work with a heavy dose of blacks and other minorities..

U being 1 or 2 out of say 40 white people is really hard..

I experience that and man some days even though i never had racism in my face i felt racism was there..U HAVE TO BE BLACK TO UNDERSTAND THAT....it makes u want to hurt someone
 worst part is that you are not wrong

i remember being the token black kid from pre-k-freshman year of college then when sophomore year hit i was :blessed: at all the other black kids i could chill with and best part was there were like 6-7 of us in the ecee department and we would all be together doing hw and studying for test

now that i'm graduating this semester i cant help but feel:mjcry: knowing that i'm gonna go back to being the token black guy again, shyt is high key depressing

GTFOH, I have no sympathy for this man whatsoever. If you don't like a job, you quit and get another one. I do it all the fukking time. With his credentials and accolades he would've easily got another one. This has nothing to do with Uber but his internal emotional struggles. Miss me with all that if you making $170k for the year and could retire in that same year.

Don't mean to be harsh on the brother and I don't know all the details but it's pretty selfish to kill your self when you have such a family. If you're being bullied or facing racism just quit and look for a new job. Obviously as a highly talented black engineer I doubt he'd have been jobless for long.

Sad but being black you can't allow racism or a loss of a job push you over. If you worked at Uber as an engineer you could have worked everywhere .

This 100%.

It's just like if you're watching something on tv and don't like it, change the channel.

We don't have to do anything we don't want to do, especially when there are other options.

Don't let people shame you into not taking those other options. Nothing noble about sticking out something that's damaging, especially when you don't have to.

In that situation if you hate your boss and the people around you, you're obviously good enough for a company to pay you $170k, bring those skills to their competitor.

not trying to excuse him but looking for a job while black can be soul crushing even when you have a great resume.

That's what some of the Coli brehs fail to understand.

In tech, as an African American, you are isolated.

You see all your Indian co-workers huddled up for lunch, Chinese huddled up, cacs huddled up, etc.

Right off the bat, you're up against steep odds in terms of having the same access to written and unwritten information by virtue of a lack of a natural network of peers. Which folks in other groups readily share among their own. Not to mention a lack of mentors who look like you, etc.

Then, the few nikkas actually around get on their :mjpls: shyt in an effort to not appear too Black!

How many of you Coli brehs actually see Black people--African Americans specifically--at your jobs openly having lunch together? 5 to 10 deep? :mjpls:
I have not seen 10 black people in the whole building. And it's couple thousand that work here.

This is why you always need an exit plan. Goals really do make a difference in prospective. BP need to stop working for money and start working for freedom. He should have been investing the hell out of that Uber money. RIP and the best if luck to his family.

arent you ''indian'' tho talking bout ''BP'':mjpls:
