I agree with him to an extent, but to chastise Math for his lack of professionalism, to say he'll hold the culture back, and not hold Smack and the league accountable for the same lack of professionalism, and for fostering the type of environment that leads to shyt like this, is almost hypocritical. don't get me wrong, while I empathize with Math because I've had one of those reflex type moments too,it's no excuse and I still think he deserve some the blame he's getting, I just think Smack needs to be taking more heat for this.
Like someone else said, part of the appeal to some is the thought that shyt could pop off at any moment during these battles, and that image is being pushed onto people- willingly or not- because the lack of any type of rules to minimize contact or enforce any "processional" standard, is exacerbating that same image and creating the type of situations that lead up to someone possibly getting punched. I mean, Norbes is telling dudes that they should limit there rounds to 4 or 4 and a half minutes, but that's an open ended request because he's not mandating it as a rule, so it leads to a situation where Math is pissed at Serius for going over a supposed time limit, and Serius is pissed for being interrupted during his round, and both end up having a legitimate gripe because the language of the rules wasn't made clear or enforced by the people who should've been doing it. Not to mention the the excessive wait times between battles, allowing battlers to interrupt each other and get in each others faces, allowing the battlers to drink before going on stage( why allow that if you want to ensure a quality battle?), all helping to create this tinder box situation.
That's why I don't agree with URL being a victim of any sorts; They're trying to hold the battlers to standards they're not holding themselves to,did an extra shytty job of running that venue that night, and because up until now Smack has had no problem profiting from situations like this ( that dose video is still on the site) and from all the extra aggression that he doesn't feel the need to curb during battles. As far as I'm concerned, URL failed the battlers and the fans that night just as much as Math failed his fans.
Edit: Cornercommsion2k12 made a good ass post on the last page, if the URL and Math are victims of anything, it's the double standards that exists when it comes to preception of black and white ran businesses, and the the stereotypes being levied against them right now. KoTD is just as guilty for letting shyt like this fly, yet they don't receive half the criticism, and right now people are writing off The URL for the same shyt.
